Practice match between Troll Horde and Bull Centaur stampede

Decided to do some learning on the floor vs myself. Just did the basic Plain of L’Anguille. No objectives. Does TOW have objectives ever?

Troll Horde won the roll off and went first, almost half being Stupid. No biggie.
Then the Chorfs moved up trying to set up some charges and maybe not get charged first.

A giant charged some Blunderbusses and they turned tail due to Terror, but rallied and held against the giant’s later charge surprisingly. The Lammasu went after some Stone Trolls, and whattyaknow? The magical breath does NOT have Flaming Attacks? Oh well, they got Lammasu’d anyways.

The Bull Centaurs on the right with the swords and shields ended up winning combat vs the other Trolls over there and catching them in Pursuit (which I think is like Sweeping Advance in 40k and the Trolls just all die right?!?), then they reformed and aimed to flank the Troll Hag.

The massive block of great weapon centaurs joined with the Tauruk (who had the Headman’s axe) charged into Stone Trolls, won that combat, and tried to pursue, BUT ran into the other Troll Hag (who is Trugg, the Troll Dad) and got away…again learning game, so I think they had to stop and wheel around to fight the Hag, and counted as charging next Combat phase?

Forgeworld centaurs ended up Fleeing, then rallying but only with 1 guy left, while Blunderbusses tried to get rid of some River Trolls but didn’t do a great job. Wow, they’re slow! I can see why one might want a massive block of 10x3, for efficient Steed of Shadows.

Ended with the Stampede conceding Turn 3, because I was tired, and it looking grim after the Bull Centaurs on the right AND the giant great weapon block both got Mithered by the two Hags, lost combat, Fled, and then both got Pursuited to death.

Troll Horde regen saves being rerollable is super good. So I’ll be looking to include some sort of Flaming Attacks in my Chorf army lists going forward. Magma Cannon can’t hurt

Bull Centaur Stampede is pretty fun and thematically impressive. Though I really want some of my war-machines in there.
