Russian Alternative scale

Hi there folks!
I managed to put my hands on a few, unopened boxes of RA models: two versions of 10x great weapons warriors, a unit of 10x blunderbusses, and a command group (the one with the bagpipe  )
For the moment I just received one box of great w., and one thing I noticed putting them next to the 3d printed Fabelzel’s, is that, although the general height is similar, the faces and hands are quite smaller on the RA range.
Do you guys use them in combination with other ranges? Is their scale a bit throwing off when mixed with 3d printed models?
I feel the scale of RA models is more natural and less charicaturesque, but I’m wondering how well will they pair with my other minis.
I am also a bit concerned about the lead levels on those, and as they are still unassembled and unpainted, so I’m still wondering if I will even keep them. Haven’t build them yet.
Both RA and Fabelzel’s sculpts have such flavour and detail, even if they feel a bit different from each other!

They are both great ranges, at the end of the day it depends of your painting scheme. You can mix some pretty different ranges with the help of a unifying painting scheme, they are some great exemple here in the differents blogs.

Couldn’t agree more. It’s all about the scheme to make the units tie together. With a bit more care to be taken if you are mixing within the unit to make sure the models work together. Completely workable.

Cannot speak to lead content, but the metal used looks, feels and cleans up similar to the non lead alloys which many other companies are using (I believe it is the same or similar). It doesn’t have the duller sheen of lead, nor is it softer than would be expected. Many people here are fans of and have models from the RA line. I have RA units and they work just fine on the same table and army with FW, Heartbreaker, Reaper, and Confrontation, etc. One of my RA units has Stonehaven Dwarves mixed in successfully. One of these days soon, I need to get some current army photos up. As stated, there are many examples of mixed manufacurer/cast, and 3D print armies in the army blogs here.
