Smeeefz' Helsmiths of Hashut

First Helsmith of Hashut model complete. The the models have a lot of character, and I’m enjoying them a lot.

Learned how to do wet blending to do the blade of his weapon. A lot easier than I thought it would be.

If anyone has any questions about my process or paint recipes, just drop me a line.

I do like the look of the new GW chaos dwarfs , had the old big hats from the 90’s and they were kind of cartoonish in the look compared to the much older c32 chaos dwarfs from the original metal line up

Oh well, its Army Painter Daemonic Yellow wet blended with Lava Orange wet blended with Resplendent Red. Then when that’s all dry, I did a stippling of matt black with a hobby sponge.

Yes @Smeeefz !

Welcome to forum and congrats on an awesome job, loving seeing what people are doing with some of these over on discord but it’s even better to see full blogs starting on the forum where we can come back and visit and chat a lot more.

Looking forward to your other updates, what have you got lined up next?

It looks fantastic!! I’m going to have to do some testing… would love to reproduce this across multiple units to tie them together!

Im nearly done with my Dominator engine at the moment!

Dominator Engine is finished! I used a bunch of spare KO bits to add battlefield trophies to his base. My second one will likely have extra FS bits as decoration, but I went with KO because I genuinely dislike them so much compared to classic playstyle dwarfs :rofl:

The Glow inside the smoke for the Immolation Canons turned out better than I had expected.

I love painting fire. My main AoS army is Fyreslayers so I’ve had plenty of practice.

Im so grateful that these models are easy to magnetize.

This looks great, nice addition of the charred KO (sorry @Beliman  )

And yeah those magnetised arms are great, I’m sure they considered it for this kit and the artillery too

Quick double update here.

One Tormentor Bombard,

And the infernal Cohort Musician ft. Hobgrot Gong Bearer

Truthfully speaking, this is the very first time I’ve ever attempted waterslide decals. Im quite please with the results. I really like the cuneiform back tattoo look.

They’re also on his shoulders but the angle was weird for the photograph.

I wanted to go for a more traditional sickly green color for the skin of the hobgrot; more like a classic Hobgoblin.

I still wonder what the inspiration was behind the orange skin for AoS Hobgrots…
