Decided to get a start on the dreadquake since it seemed like it would be simple enough- not so…
I honestly wouldn’t have gotten far without the instructions posted here courtesy of Nicodemus. Truly a worthy admin of Hashut!
But anyway, I must also mention the importance of using a cutting disk to remove resin gates in a well ventilated area and a mask, as I did today. I ignored this when building my bull centaurs and it left me with a horrendously sore throat. My father said “there are no shortcuts in life” and he is right. Do not take chances with resin dust!
Tirade aside, here is the finished mortar cannon: (Well, half finished. Still gotta add the little details!)
As you can see I had to do some Jerry rigged pinning. As well as add a bar to the top of the cannon since the pieces I got for that were unfortunately miscast. I don’t think there was any saving them…
But that aside, I may add a few extra gribblies alongside the valves and levers. But mostly I intend to airbrush it in Vallejo exhaust manifold along with some Vallejo gold and copper for pipes and valves and the. Drench the thing in streaking grime and my favourite blue verdigris!
