The Golden Orc Awards: Rules and Entry
The finest Greenskin only painting competition in all the lands! (Coz Orcs is da BEST!)
Showcase your talents with a brush and battle with the finest artist from around the globe for glory and renown, or enter just for fun and the love of Orcs! Either way there is plenty of loot to get your grubby green fists on, but you have to be in it to win it!
What is a Greenskin? Orcs of course! And their Orkoid cousins; Goblins, Snotlings and the rest of the fungoid family. Squigs are more than welcome, where would an Orc be without a Squig or two?.
Subspecies and variations such as Hobgoblins and Uruk-Hai for example will qualify. Trolls are allowed only but as part of an Orc/Goblin Team/Squad where applicable.
Other races are allowed only as part of a diorama. See the Diorama section for more details.
Greenskins from any game system are allowed up to and including 32mm scale. Subspecies and variations such as Hobgoblins and Uruk-Hai are allowed.
If you have a model/race and are unsure if it qualifies, please ask. Vehicles, mechs, dreds, stompas and other marvellous metal contraptions may be entered as part of a Diorama or in the Open Competition.
YOUR ENTRY MUST BE PAINTED BY YOU. Anyone found breaking this rule will feel the face swift, ferocious force of the BanHammer and be disqualified from this and all future Golden Orc events.
You may enter each category only once. Models may not be entered in more than one category. This event is open to all ages and skill levels so you may also submit an entry on behalf of a child, this does not count as your entry.
Entries may be shortlisted by the Golden Orc Judging panel depending on the number of entries in each category. Final voting will be by public vote via Facebook.

Single Figure: Show off your meanest & greenest!

Single miniature on (up to) 32mm base.
Subcategory 1: Fantasy Football. Single miniature from the Greenskin teams or Starplayers across all Fantasy Football ranges and miniature manufacturers.
Subcategory 2: Other - 40k, AoS and everything else… A whole lot to chose from!
Awards - ‘Orcscar’ Trophy and prizes for first place, medals and prizes for 2nd & 3rd. Entries qualify for random spot prizes.
Team/Squad: Get your mob together for some krumpin!

6-15 miniatures on (up to) 32mm bases, up to 50% of the team/squad may be mounted on (up to) 40mm bases (for trolls etc).

Your chance to show your Orcs in action! Your diorama must show some kind of theme or narrative, two models just stuck side by side isn’t gonna cut it!
2 or more miniatures mounted on a single base. Must be composed of at least 50% Greenskins, this is the only place non-greenskins are allowed. 250x250mm maximum base size, 32mm minimum.

As this is the first year of The Golden Orc Awards we want to see the best of what has come before along with the biggest and baddest boyz you have!
Any (up to) 32mm scale ‘Greenskin’ miniature/s. No restriction on when it was painted (still it must have been painted by you).
Awards - ‘Orcscar’ Trophy and prizes for first place, medals and prizes for 2nd & 3rd. Entries qualify for random spot prizes.
Just for Fun: That’s what it’s all about.
Any (up to) 32mm scale ‘Greenskin’ miniature/s. No restriction on when it was painted (still it must have been painted by you).
Awards - None! These entries won’t be judged. A separate random prize pool will be allocated to this category.
An additional ‘Squiglets’ award may be presented (depending on number of participants) with the winner chosen from across all categories for children 12 and under.
HOW TO ENTER
Please read carefully and follow the instructions. Failure to do so may result in your entry not being counted.
Entry is by Email only. For the Diorama category you may submit 3 final images, for all other categories submit 1 only. Your image may be made of composite photos but keep in mind it will be viewed on Facebook, possibly on phones and tablets so single, clear images may be best.
Time restriction: For the time limited events you must also submit a ‘before’ image with your entry. Simply take a photo of your unpainted model* next to the words ‘Golden Orc Awards’ on a piece of paper.
*Models/teams/Dioramas may be up to approximately 50% complete (This will be judged on the Golden Orc’s discretion). Some of you may have half finished Orctober projects or have already started on the new box sets and Kickstarter teams, the event is also a little later starting than originally intended.
Submitting your entry.
ONLY ONE ENTRY PER EMAIL. If you are entering multiple categories please send each as a new email. Entries must be submitted by midnight on the 14th of January 2021.
Your Email must be titled ‘Golden Orc Awards’
Attach the photo/s of your entry as described above, including the ‘before’ image if applicable. Images in Jpeg or PDF format.
Include the following information
Your name (or name of the person you are entering)
Age (if the entry is to be considered for the ‘Squiglet’ award. 12 & under)
The Category you are entering.
Name of your entry. Maximum 25 Characters.
Double check all of the above.

The Small Print.
The Golden Orc Awards will never ask you for money, this event is funded by Black Orc Down and our other sponsors. Winners will be contacted by The Golden Orc by the official email address and you will be asked for your delivery information only and no other details. By entering this competition you give The Golden Orc Awards the right to use and display your image for judging and promotional purposes. Prizes cannot be exchanged for cash value.
