Beautifully realized. That mower grinder looks vicious. Are the attachment arms zoid parts? Amazing yellows on the beast. Very banana slug! Well done!
Thanks the attachment arms are from a toy catapult from the lesser-known ‘technolog’ range. I used one as a goblin hewer, and at £2 a pop I bought one spare for my chorfs. Glad I did!
Baggage train! What Iron Daemon is complete without magnetised chains to drag along its war machines? Will I ever use them in battle? Probably not. Will I point it out to my opponents? Definitely.
So cool!!!
Holy shit dude. This is absolute gold!
Slugga slugga slugga slugga, chew chew!
Awesome job! Can I ask how you got the purplish hew over the metal Staff for Lorax the Dwarf Mage? Also, what are you using as a base material to get all of these torches throughout the army?
Also, which model(s) did you use to create the Lammasu? I’ve never seen that one before, was it a kitbash? And I am customizing my own Lammasu and I was wondering if you bought the seat/throne separately? If so I sure would like to know where you purchased it as I am needing one for mine.
Apologies for the absurdly late reply!

A metal base layer with purple wash feathered on (I think!)
Also, what are you using as a base material to get all of these torches throughout the army?
For torches/flame I use Vallejo’s water texture. Colourwise I make it the brightest white, then yellow, then red around the outer edges, and blend the two with an orange glaze.

It was from Raven Twin Miniatures: an ill-fated Kickstarter that went way behind schedule and left lots of disgruntled backers. I was one of the lucky ones. It didn’t kitbash it an enormous amount, save for the base and obligatory Prince symbols.
K’Dai! With an appropriately converted ‘manburner’ as champion. Pretty models but useless on the tabletop still, I will continue to field them for the rule of cool.
Might be my first time seeing these fully painted! Well done!
I’ve been on this watch list for quite some time.
It’s not so bad…
You get to see cool black helicopter’s over head.
Black suburban SUV’s parked in front of the house at midnight.
But its not so bad.
LOVE the killer Mollusk.
KKKKKen is going to kkkkkkill me. Look up a fish called Wanda,
Another update. Apologies for the spam - am catching up on lots of undocumented Chorfs. Oh no! Chorf spam! Whatever will you do?
Below: took advantage of rebasing to give my characters the lava treatment. Also a standard bearer and unit champion – my nominated Hellshard model. The standard remains blank until I’m brave enough to try custom decals. No prizes for guessing the design…
Excellent subtle lighting in these. I especially like the lava arm guy with the rune inside the chaos star. And of course… the cute stunty with the fullmask firehat that spawned a generation of immortals, to this day one of my favorite RA sculpts.
Below - IRONSWORN! Long have I dreamed of fielding a brick of these bad boys. I painted up 10 more to bolster my existing rabble, then gave them all flaming lollipop swords for added menace. Also pictured is my Pirate champion from earlier – he’ll be their navigator.
I cannot wait to inflict these on someone. They can’t possibly die…can they?
The way scibor was meant to be!
Bolstered my black orcs with some chorf-specific conscripts. They tie in nicely with the skin tone I chose for the dwarfs and hobgoblins.
Banner to be completed, when I muster the courage for custom decals…
BLORCBOSS BIGHAT!
So ferocious is he that the Chorfs of the Purple Reign have awarded him his own big hat. Urgent memos have been sent round the Ziggurat, reminding staff to treat him like a Chaos Dwarf. Think “Elf” with more bloodshed.
The head was an orc face sliced in half, fused with a spare bull centaur hat. Any imperfections should be considered a rad battlescar.
Chariot model acquired from Raven Twin Miniatures, printed with the brittlest material imaginable. You’ll see the chains had be reenforced with metal rods to stop them snapping.
Weapons replaced with gnarly chain whips, pointed with obligatory Prince symbols for added funk.
(Gameplay wise, these whips count as the ‘crew’. Watsssshhhhhk!)
Further snappage during painting.
Pre-lava treatment.
Feeling hot hot hot!
Et voila, Blorcboss Bighat. As ferocious on the tabletop as he appears. To date he has never disappointed, amassing in his travels a fearsome collection of daemon scalps, skulls and shaggoth pelts. Long may he ride.
Damn, that is one awesome Black Orc on Chariot, mate! Excellent work.
Praise Hashut…
Nice.
I think Prince would approve. I am stealing this idea but more for my slaneesh stuff.
