The Riches of Khemri Part III

Yesterday, the army of the chaos dwarves reached the temple complex of Nutrotet. There, among all the gold and silver that was given to the dead as burial gifts, ancient tablets were said to be found. The high priest Gilgharrmesh hopes to find the secrets of eternal life on these tablets. As usual, the undead guardians are ready to receive the chaos dwarves, but the Dawi Zharr are well prepared and have assembled their army according to their objective…

The Chariot unit named the Wheels of Time leveled up last game and are now able to make a pre-game move.

The Defenders of Khemri have the Initiative and their army advances on a broad front to meet the black dwarfs

The Chaos Dwarves have placed their right flank under the care of Rhazak’s Slavers, a regiment of Dwarven warriors known for their ferocity. There, the Hobgoblin infantry are to quickly secure the temples while the Immortals take the center and bind the defenders.

On the left flank, the bultaurs make a quick attack on the exposed chariots that have previously galloped recklessly into their range

The battle begins and the first casualties are suffered…

The dwarves’ plan seems to be working. The first temples are secured, the restless guards inside overcome and the treasures plundered. The giant of the undead is destroyed by the colossus of the attackers and the right flank is secured.

The Bultaurs are decimated by the chariots and are forced to flee, just to be relieved by the Acolytes of Hashut who manage to charge the Flank of the chariots.

The battle progresses, both dwarves and skeletal warriors animated by ancient magic fall to the soon-to-be blood-soaked sands… The chariots are almost wiped out by the flanking attack from the Disciples of Fire, only to be saved by the Temple Guard in a desperate, long-range counter-attack…

The Acolytes are wiped out, and leave the left flank dangerously exposed. Meanwhile the Immortals take the center of the battlefield and plunder the central Tempel without casualties.

To win the battle, the black dwarves must plunder enough temples to be able to unlock the secrets of necromancy. But this is not yet the case. The Immortals are blocked and cannot advance any further without revealing their flank. Only a single, already decimated unit of goblins can still reach a half-sunken temple ruin with a hasty march. If there are traps or guards lurking inside, or the loot is small, victory will go to the Tomb Kings!

It is at such moments that heroes are born. The champion of the Bloodstained Horns invokes the name of his god and charges, death-defyingly alone, towards the chariots that had previously decimated his retinue! His axe whirls wildly, shattering dust-covered bones and slicing bronze armor. Again, and again he refuses to flee before the overwhelming force of the undead, until he is finally slayed under the skeletons’ spears… But his sacrifice has held off the chariots long enough to save the Chaos Dwarfs’ right flank from collapse!

The Hobgoblins reach the ruins under the stern gaze of their master and immediately start looting. And behold! Not a guard to be seen far and wide. Instead, gold and silver. Precious stones, magically preserved fabrics and, above all, bronze and lead tablets from the ancient priests of the cult of the dead. The magic of the Tomb Kings will be made available to Gilgharrmesh and his own!

The Tomb guard charges and kills in an act of revenge the Kolossus, but it is for nought.

The dwarves of Naggrund begin an orderly retreat, laden with their treasures. The guardians of Khemri can only watch as their treasures and secrets are carried away.

What a fun battle report
Loved it
Thank you

Thank you, we are really enjoying these unsymmetrical games lately. The next one will probably represent that the chaos dwarfs erect a monument to Hashut to celebrate their victory and the tomb king have to destroy it
