Great questions, Iāll endeavour to clean up confusion and also my thought processā
Breath Weapon:
Glad youāre interested in the breath weapon! Just to clarify, I donāt actually use it into combat itself, as you canāt. However, the Lammasu really shines when supporting my Orc Warboss as he moves up the battlefield. The Lammasu can position itself to cast Storm of Ash, providing that crucial -1 to hit in a 9ā bubble.
If my opponentās units are clustered up nearby, Iāll get cheeky and drop the breath weapon on a nearby unit outside of combat, as long as itās within that 9ā range. Itās great for thinning out enemies before my Warboss charges in. The breath weapon is versatile and can make future fights more in my favour, especially when used carefully for positioning and timing.
Hellbound Rule:
As for Hellbound, I include it in every list because it adds so much value for just 35 points. Hereās why:
Magical Attacks: Itās a must have when facing enemies like The Green Knight or Screamer lists or any army with daemonic invulnerabilities. Having magical attacks means I can handle those tricky units much more easily.
6+ Ward Save: The 6+ ward save against non-magical attacks is a nice bonus. While it wonāt save the Iron Daemon every time, it adds some survivability when facing standard attacks.
Terror: Hellbound upgrades the Iron Daemon from Fear to Terror, which can be a game-changer, especially when facing lower-leadership armies. That alone adds great utility when charging into weaker units or forcing fear checks.
Versatility: Finally, it makes the Iron Daemon more versatile overall, combining combat resilience with utility against certain types of enemies.
For only 35 points, itās a real bargain in terms of the added survivability, magical damage, and utility.
All of that makes Hellbound in my opinion a must-have in my lists, giving the Iron Daemon a broader role on the battlefield and making it more than just a brute-force war machine.
