Interesting! How’d it go?

It should be noted that a daemonsmith sorcerer doesn’t have the option to select a mundane shield, and thus shouldn’t be able to take an enchanted one - old world builder still hasn’t fixed this.

Interesting choice of keeping points allocated into characters low. How’d that come about?

I’m a big proponent of the item Hellshard on CD unit champions. Really deters glass cannon heroes from engaging :ogre:

Oh really? I didn’t know that, but thanks! I’ll make a note of it. This week I’m going to a medium-sized tournament, and I don’t want to make any big mistakes for my first Old World tournament.

The battle was really fun! I didn’t want to invest too much in characters since it was more of a fluff game, as I usually play with 1500 points or lower. His biggest threat was the Night Goblins with 3 Fanatics.

But I got lucky in the first turn. I reloaded the Death Rocket fire rounds, and he had to take a panic test. He failed, and the Goblins ran off in turn 1 xD

The Centaurs, with their impact hits, smashed his Trolls on the left flank and then the Savage Orcs. The Infernal Guard held their ground in the center with the Iron Daemon. The K’daai, with 3 wounds, did their job of holding up the Giant for a few turns—just what I needed.

In the end, his Orcs fled, his Goblin Shaman ran off, and the Giant only made it into combat in round 5. He eventually conceded. It was a great game ! This week gonna try 2000p lists for the tournement got some idea with fire glaves

If it’s turn 1 I know it’s not unlikely that they ran off the board with ≤6”, but you remembered that they would only have to FBIGO, right?

Did the battle drag on in terms of time? Or did your opponent get disheartened IRL? :see_no_evil_monkey: There’s good practice - especially if you’re aiming to enter a tournament - in losing gracefully, and scrambling to keep as many points on the board to mitigate your defeat :index_pointing_up:

His Goblin Shaman did not join the Unit of Night Goblins. And they where far away. He faild the LD Test - Panic Test, and if i am not wrong they need to flee ? Or am I getting it wrong.

The Battle itself was realy quick. But i got luck tbh with the dice and mostly got good outcome. This Week gonna try the tournament list against a Cathay Balon list.

At the end for me its the fun in game win/lose , important is that I play what I love and my fav. faction. Took me a long time to complete the Forge World Army xD

When you do a panic check and fail if the unit is at more than 50% beginning of battle strenght, then you FIGBO instead of fleeing.

Great report though I love good battle stories !
