I recently cranked out a squad of soldiers for a setting that’s been floating around on Twitter. Post Apocalyptic Napoleonics! I’m not much of a historics guy, but this has enough design space to hook my imagination. These soldiers are members of the Mandragoras Filii, who hail from the Raised City neat the river Ob.
I’ll probably be doing a lot more with this setting, since these guys need someone to fight, and I’m kinda loving the checkered tile terrain. Anyhow, hope you enjoy!

This is indeed weird, but I like it!
Great dark and gritty painting as well.

You can just search turnip28 on Twitter, and you’ll find Max (the guy who decided it) and I really quick. I think I have a few different links for it in my blog post at Turnip 28 - Sons of the Mandrake
I’m pretty excited about this little project, so I highly encourage others to get involved. The more folks gaming, the more likely we all are to find a game.

Looks like something Straight the pages of 28magazine!-you’ve nailed the style
Something I’ve tried but never quite got right - I end up in the “inspired by John Blanche” result as opposed to the full blown 28 style - not sure why.

Thank you! That’s very high praise indeed. I’m definitely a huge fan of 28mag, and would love to do something worth featuring in there
a kid can dream!
I hope you keep trying your hand at inq28! I’d love to see how you do yours!

Cheers! I’m really trying to pull out all the stops with this project. I’ve even gotten in the habit of making painted backdrops for my minis and batreps. It’s really rewarding getting to see it all tie together in diorama form!

Since I’m updating quite a bit now, here’s the first two episodes of my little solo campaign!
I’m a bit rusty with my prose work, but I’m pretty pleased with how the rest of it seems to be turning out.
With any luck, the momentum will keep and I’ll play through a wild little campaign. The actual Odyssey only had nine chapters (long as some of them were,) so maybe that’ll be the goalpost for this strange foray.

that snail shell is just brilliant. What a great mini
What a fascinating cross over. I linked to some of the material with my gaming group who do a fair amount of napoleonics. Since I have some extra bits lurking around (cough cough) I may have to dabble with a conversion myself…
Thanks for sharing!

What are you using for the vegetation? Is it ‘tufts’ you can buy? And do you grotty them up after the fact, or purchase ones that look mucky already?

Hey @midgetmanifesto - sorry for slow reply mate - missed this.
