Turquoise/Orange Chaos Dwarfs

Hey all, with the potential new release of new CDs for AoS on the horizon, I thought I’d print up some Lost Kingdoms minis and hope they’ll be able to be proxied. i had a standard red/gold army back in Fantasy 6th/7th that I’d converted out of greenstuff and dwarf kits, and can’t bring myself to paint in those colours again. So trying out a more turquoise and orange scheme.

Hopefully more to come over time, unless I really hate the new releases.

The scheme looks very good and fits the models well. Great start!

I did something similar with turquoise and steel on my Chorfs, I think it is something different from the classical red and gold, though that is a classic for a reason…

Very original and well executed color scheme can’t wait to see more of your creation

Look great!
Their website is very light on details (how many parts their models come in, additional photos of models)
Can I ask if the stl’s are modular?
Really like those Death Guard blunderbusses for proxying the new AoS range.
Also I’m confident the new AoS troops are all based on 28mm.

Finished up the Hellcannon that I’ll be using as the new AoS Bombard. 3D printed Hellcanoon that’s shrunk to 85% or so to better fit on the 100 mm base.

I’ll have to find photos of my old metal hellcannon from way back in the day in the CDO archive sometime for comparisson.

Really depends which mini you’re looking at when it comes to parts. Most are in 3-4 parts, there’s not a lot of room for reposing. Some of the STLs are a little modular in that many have the same torso that you can take arms and heads and swap around. Notable exception is their immortals.

Really impressive work completing that artillery! Ive got an old metal hellcannon all done up in a similar way so hopefully something bigger than a bombard comes along for AoS CD.

Thanks for replying about the LKM. I ended up grabbing several files and have been printing those death guard (blunderbusses) and also intend to start printing their bull centaurs soon

Daemonsmith (sorcerer?) completed - I’ll probably still buy the new HoH model when that releases - it’s one of the better ones.

Printed most of these before we knew the helsmiths loadouts, so a couple have retroactively added shields.

Also found a temporary option for a dominator engine, and with that should have the whole spearhead done ahead of launch day.

Bashed this guy together from different STLs.

Sweet effects on the fire and the flesh-axe

That’s a cool group, I really like the color scheme, by the way!

Thanks for the encouragement, all! It really keeps me moving at a pace. I’ve mostly finished a (very basic) 3D print of the dominator engine, hopefully I can share that in a day or two.

Not an update, but just for fun, I dug out my old chorf army photos from way back in the day circa 2006-2010, which were posted on CDO under a different username (Ellimist). Kinda funny how far the hobby has come since the days of Battle For Skull Pass and ““sculpting”” every curly beard with greenstuff.

Wonderful army so far with a striking colour scheme. I like the Hellcannon in particular, not least the whipped Goblin slave.

And wait- You’re Ellimist?!

Welcome back! I really enjoyed your work when salvaging the earliest years of CDO contests and project logs.

Great to see you back. :hatoff:

These are great! A piece of history. What did you use the robots/golems as?

Yes! Thanks for doing the archiving, I don’t think I have all of those minis that I put together in a university dorm room after a move between continents, so it’s nice to have the photos still

I used them as hobgot archers I think. I had meant to do all the hobgots like that, but didn’t have enough bitz lying around that I could use for scrap bots.

Someone on reddit put this together as a stop-gap measure for the dominator engine, and I’m honestly fairly happy with it despite it being PS2-era polygonal. Just takes a bit more paintwork and some extra STL bashing.
