Turquoise/Orange Chaos Dwarfs

Trying out oil washing over a large area to dull down the bronze (?) Before putting on the patina. Pretty impressed for these purposes, it’s always looked a bit off when I’ve tried it on smaller areas.

Chitzkoi on the discord reminded me to update this thread with progress on Urak Tarr, so here we go!

Patina is taking forever, but it’s on all of the body and part of one wing now.

Cuneiform works by puttng in white ink and wiping the excess off immediately, then using coloured ink afterwards. I tried using oil paint foe the same purpose on the dominator engine and it worked far less well.

More progress on UT.

Played a 1000 points game last weekend as an intro to AOS. hopefully this guy will be done for the full 2k next time!

Daaamnnn. Fitting in the turqoise as that oxidizing effect was inspired and the execution is phenomenal.

This is gold! I can see Chord merchants complaining about substandard metal and the treatment of their slaves… although probably less sympathetic

Printed these back before the Helsmiths even released, took forever to paint them and I hated every second of it. Hoping the new minis are less painful.

But you can’t really argue with the result, they look absolutely stunning !

Great job :hatoff:

They’re spectacular. I’d love to see the new centaurs in a smiliar scheme.

Thanks all, I’ll definitely be doing the new BCs in this style

Also, completed my Ashen Elder. I have 5 infernal razers left to go now for 2k points.

That’s a great use of the Sorcerer’s staff. There are so many combinations of Demonsmith and Priests between the on foot and mounted models we got it’s almost hard to pick which combo to use

And here we have it, the whole army! 2000 points in a little over 4 months, which is definitely a record for an army that’s not just done with airbrush glazing like my Tzeentch Daemons.

I’ve still got plans to add more units, principally the new BCs, anointed sentinels, the new infernal razers and two daemonsmiths. But for now, it’s done.

OK, so these are 10 times easier to paint. Anointewd Sentinels are, unfortunately, crap with their current rules. But hopefully they’ll be useable in 5th edition.
