Hello - new user here. I was on the old forum but wasn’t so active that it’s likely anyone would remember.
I just wondered what people are doing with their old bull centaurs. I assume a lot of people have models on 25x50mm bases, either the original big hats or conversions. It tried mine on a 50x75mm base and they looked a bit tidgy. I just wondered what other people were doing?
Adding rocks & bits to fill the base?
Two models to a base
I did consier using them as Infernal Ironsworn (1 BC = 2 Inf Iron) then adding in a few large indivial infanty models to the unit
Do bear in mind the allies rules are a bit annoying. But for friendly play just talk to your opponent, disregard the details and use the statline, would be my advice.
That’s a great idea. Whose to say CDs didn’t loan them out as CD Chaos Knights? Being your own mount must be a bit easier to deal with than a normal rider/mount set up.
I went for the middle ground and stuck mine on 40s. Not quite true scale bases but then again they were sold on cavalry bases so lets call it even. I think they look alright without getting lost on the base
You crazy genius! I’d thought of putting in proxy models for the hobgoblins, but I never thought of dwarven alternatives for chaos allies. I think this is a great solution for Mr. Goblin’s dilemma.
P.S. do you have a thread for army/proxy choices, by chance?
Not a Problem per se, but WHFB 8th and the new TOW don’t feature the old cavalry sized Bull Centaurs anymore but instead has monstrous cavalry sized Bull Centaur Renders. So if you want to use your old Bull Centaurs they would look a little lost on their 50x75 bases.
Hi there,
Also quite new to Chaos Dwarfs, since I started printing mine in spring/summer. Also got a bit lost with the topic, since I have already printed out 8 wonderful fabelzel models in the old small size. I had originally intended to have them playable as the cav version in WAP but over the course of the last year, it seems our playgroup is more and more shifting to settle on TOW.
So I was also wondering about just printing new ones but that’s some work again. A good insight came from my buddy yesterday, when we talked about the issue: in his last game he got surprised by a mangler squig where the model was quite small. Therefore he didn’t evaluate it’s danger potential correctly. We then concluded, that smaller Renders on big bases could have the same psychological effect and make your opponent underestimate them…
