Currently available Age of Sigmar equivalent models (ONCE HELSMITHS OF HASHUT ARE RELEASED), with some TOW models where they might be a better fit. Some models are only available from Games Workshop online.

• Hobgoblin Khans - Hobgrot Slittaboss

K’daai Fireborn were the toughest proxy/alternative. I initially chose the Magmic Invocations because of their daemonic flame look, but the models are wildly different sizes, I believe from 50mm base to 120mm, which doesn’t translate well to 40mm square bases in most cases. I wonder is Juggernauts of Khorne (from the Bloodcrushers box without the daemons riding) would be better, but their bases are 90mm by 52mm ovals so still seem way too big. Judgements of Khorne could work but are also a bit big and also less available. Flamers of Tzeentch will fit easily and certainly have the flamingness, so maybe they should be the top recommendation. Painted yellow through red would make them look less Tzeentchy.

Any other ideas?

I think the Tortuga bay ones look fantastic, and they appear to be working on big hats atm.
