If you didn’t see my other thread, I mocked up a taller Dominator Engine using the forearms of the cannon variant. I used some sprue goo here and there to space things out and to fill in some gaps. I decided to go some one mace and one modified cannon arm. Since I used those forearms, I had to attach the cannon muzzle on the regular arm. I like this well enough even if it is a small compromise to have the taller pose.
Next up is the Tormentor Bombard, which I modified to look more like an Earthshaker Cannon. I used the wider cannon muzzle from the Dominator Engine in place of the long and thin cannon of the Bombard.
Rather than glue together the extra wide wheels, I used them as 4 separate wheels and added some plasticard axles.
To do this, I used my Dremel to drill away some of the chassis so that I could fit the axles in place. I used a pipe cutter for the first time for the axles; that was neat.
I also had to drill through the furnace a bit, which maybe looks a bit strange, but I like to imagine the Daemon furnace can now power the rear wheels!
The king of conversions strikes again. I really like that Earthshaker conversion, the stubby canon turned out great and the 4 wheels looks very nostalgic. 10/10
It’s crazy how different the dominator looks with so few changes, big changes obviously but not many right. Also the dude in front is such a great touch, the whole thing is very imposing.
Have you thought as far as colours and painting yet?
Your first photo here with your computer cables etc in the background behind the giant, made me think it could be cool to have a dominator chained to the ground. Like ready to be unleashed
