Zanko`s Army of the Lizard King

This is my Standardbearer for the GH XLIII:

I had actually planned to convert a Bull Centaur. I had also started with the conversion and the painting, but then more and more difficulties arose, so that I finally switched and built and painted the above standard bearer. If I have some time soon, I will also finish the BC standard bearer I started.

What model is this guy based on? His armour is nice. I like the ironfist

This guy is from Fenris Games! :hatoff:

Gotta know , how did you make the leather looking standard?
Is that carved green stuff?
Love the look.

You’re way overestimating my modeling skills! I bought the standard some where in the internet.

Lord of Chaos has sent me some really great CD models! :hatoff:

I’m thrilled, but now I have to think carefully about how I can do justice to the models.

Oh, who’s that sorcerer in the middle?

I have no idea (maybe Metal Magic - would fit in terms of style), so I guess we’ll have to ask @Lordofchaos!

Awww there lays the mystery. I won that at a hobby shop in Wichita Kansas in 1984? 86? for a prize of best army.
It supposedly came from England GW. I have never seen another one in my research , nor seen one on EBOY.
If I remember it has the GW stamp on the foot tab. It has to be an early CD wizard of some sort.
Or maybe they are all over England?
Maybe Chitz could help???

@Zoddtheimmortal Beat me to it  He’s apparently part of a set called Iron Claw Gothic Dwarfs.

This model doesn’t feature on the box, oddly enough:

I saw an ebay listing for him as a “Citadel Druid”, which falls in line with their tendency to put antlers on druids, but nope.

These are the last original regular dwarves from my previous project the “Dwarves of Kraka Dorden”. In the story written for me, a large army of dwarves had set out from Kraka Dorden to fight the surrounding chaos. Now that only the last remnants of the troops remain, they have been abandoned by the other Dawi and have joined the Disciples of Hashut in desperation. They became the only true “Lost Legion” in the old world!

I only now see that the flash has changed the colors somewhat.

The dwarves have brown skin and red eyes. They also all have black hair. The idea was to make only a subtle change to the original models and thus retain the original character. um at least in the pictures it didn’t really work …

They work…

I’m not sure if I’ve posted the pictures of the old Chaos Dwarfs MIne anywhere, if so I can’t find it ad hoc. So that this ingenious model is not forgotten, here are some more pictures. Unfortunately I have not been able to find all the pictures.

I have everything. I was just in touch with Teb and Marcus (the creator) Over a year ago… The project is still sitting in pieces in his garage. I had backed up almost everything back when that post was new and I am only missing one or two files now… Teb had a bunch of the files on an old server hard drive he was able to recover for me. I posed it to my blog here… Nicodemus' Forge of Unfinished Business - #9 by Nicodemus

I’m out of town at the moment but will post what I have to my blog here soon… If you look up the original site where those images were posted (Empire forum) I shared some of the images on there over a year ago.

I offered to drive to pick up the components of the mine but never got a response

@Nicodemus => I downloaded the posted images from the original thread. The problem is now that Photobucket has made the images uploaded there “unclear”. That’s why I only have so few pictures. I’m sure I downloaded all the pictures years ago, but they probably got lost after I bought several new computers.
In any case, it’s good to know that you are in contact with the creator of the mine and that you might get new pictures of the painted mine one day!
