m3lvin:

Thanks all for the nice comments, I will update with more pics later today.

astragoth:

ehrmm… If you mean the CD hero, he is painted. He’s actually the only model I painted in my army so far!

buuuut I guess you’ll just have to wait for a certain webzine to come out before you’ll see him.

(dont tell anyone, It’s a secret :D)

m3lvin:

Hello, time for a small update again, as promised.

I’ll start by posting a pic on my Bolt thrower crew, I forgot to post it last time, so here’s how they looked two days ago:

Here’s how they look today:

Still got alot work left on these, will probably be done with the converting this weekend.

And for the Hero, I haven’t got that far yet, sculpted the upper body yesterday, and put arms and head today. (also resculpted the chainmail between his legs.)

I’m gonna sculpt helmet and more armour tomorrow.

That’s all for today,

:hat off

Ogrob:

Looking good there. I think I might try your way of making necks for my next bunch of hobbos.

black hammer:

The armour on the hero is super nice. I wish i had your greenstuff skills.

tjub:

Oh, riktigt snygga! Ill be keeping these in mind when Ill be redoing my hobgoblins. Maybe a tutorial of some kind?

Skink:

Oooh, these hobbos are really sweet!!! Fantastic! Your GS skills are ner perfect. I wish I can sculpt this good…

Any chance of seeing something painted my friend?

m3lvin:

tjub: A tutorial could probably be arranged  anything more specific you’d like the tutorial to focus on? And btw, thanks for the slaves! :hat off

skink: Usually, when building my armies, I glue everything I want in the army before entering a painting frenzy

But I never made an army with so much heavy converting before, so I maybe just have to paint some unit to keep me stimulated. (but mostly to keep you guys satisfied :P)

Belive it or not, but I haven’t really decided a colour-scheme yet.

And for some new pics on the progress of my hero, what I’ve done today. only got an hour to spend today, so I didn’t get any time to work on my BT crew. Anyhow, here’s the hero;

Shoulderpads, (elbow armour?) and other details will be added tomorrow.

One thing that annoys me is that the helmet really remainds me of some movie/comic/game character I’ve seen before, but I cant remember where I got my inspiration from!

If someone thinks they got a clue, please tell!

jebilo:

wahooooo, you’re a god of green stuff !

awesome work

tjub:

Awesome work there! Kan man få en storleksjämnförelse med övriga hobgoblins och dvärgar?

Stubbs:

What the wooooooowwwwww Melvin dammit help me not to drool! :mad

God your idea for bullcentaurs is also perfect, what did I say everything is perfect! dammmm, but if you bought 2x BFSP that means you have ahum, 40 hobgoblins with bows, and > . > … 80 hobgoblins with spears lol! dammmm I love your blog lol

m3lvin:

thanks for the comments!

Stubbs: you better calm down if you dont want to drown in a drool pool  and about the bfsp boxes, I bought them together with a friend and split the price so he got all the gobbos. I still have some older gobbos lying around, so I’ll use them instead, since they’re bigger and all.

Anyhow, thought it was time for a small update here, while sitting and eagerly waiting for Woh *6

I can start by telling you that I’ve played my second game with my CDs in the 500 pts campaign.

This time, I got challanged by an long time experienced greenskin player, eager to fight my CD army.

He got a unit with 15 orcs, followed by a black orc hero (the general)

A unit of 10 Black orcs, a unit of 20 nightgoblin archers, and a boar chariot.

The deployment was a pain. Terrain everywhere and almost no place at all to place my units,

especially not my bolt throwers! :~

My Bullcentaurs had to be deployed in an orc village, and I was unlucky to get a charge from the unit with 15 orcs and hero.

Thankfully, the opposing player had some bad luck with his dice rolls, and only killed on BC.

I hit back with my remaining BCs and managed to kill the hero and an orc.(simillar to the vampire, previous match).

Altough, I lost the combat due to him outnumbering me, got 3 ranks, banner.

Even though I lost by 2 points, I still got to take the Ld test on 8, since my general was within 12"(and I passed), CD hero’s are sweet

After that, the battle was a joy.

I breaked the orcs in the following combat, prusiued them, and wiped them out

His black orcs and chariot was approaching me, and my BTs was doing their best to soften them up.

He charged my Great Weapon CDs with the chariot, and handw. shield dwarfs (including my hero) with his blorcs.

The Gw CDs held and made the chariot flee, and the black orcs was wiped out.

In my fifth turn, I transformed the chariot into a kebab with my BTs, and declared a charge against the nightgoblin archers with my BCs.

The gobbos decided to flee, and ran of the table

Conclusion: His Army got wiped in the 5th turn, and I got 900 VP (500 for army, 100 for standard, 100 for general, and 200 for 2 table quarters.)

He got 37pts  (half the points for my hero). Do I need to say it was a massacre? :stuck_out_tongue:

I had very much luck in this game, mostly because of his bad dice-rolls, feel sorry for him.

Too bad I wiped out all of his army, I’ve could surley have use some of them as slaves :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

He has very much respect for Chaos Dwarfes now, and says he’ll never challange me during the campaign again

:hat HAIL TO HASHUT!!! :hat

----------------------------------------------------------------

I haven’t really had any time for my CDs this weekend, but instead I’ll get even more time this coming week.

One thing I’ve did though, Is a tutorial on how to sculpt my hobgoblin torsos. (as requested earlier by tjub.)

It’s not really a tutorial, but I’ve filmed while I was sculpting so hopefully It can give you some insight.

The actual sculpting time took longer then I expected, so I had to speed the video up a bit, but you can still see the progress clearly.

hope you’ll enjoy;

Zanko:

Your Hobbo is marvelous! :hat off

I want to see more of this cool looking guys and certainly painted! :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

          :hashut

centauro enano:

I like Bolt thrower crews, expressions are especially well

warh:

nice work melv!

do you play “the legend of Zelda: Twilight prinsess”

those hobgobs look just like bullblins

black hammer:

Those are some of the coolest hobgoglins ever made! But don’t you think they’ve got a little to much armour for just hobgoblins?

m3lvin:

warh:

Nope, I have not. The last Zelda game I’ve played was Wind Waker.

I love the whole series, but I haven’t got around to play the last game.

mostly because the GC version is hard to find and expensive, and I have no plan on buying a wii.

black hammer:

The only Hobgoblin wearing armour is the hero.

The other ones will remain naked, since they’re just crew.

Think I should do a small update, I’ve painted my CD hero!

For more pics, see my post in the

Showcase thread

I’d also mention that my work on the other hero (the little weaker, and sneaky one) is going along fine.

I’ll perhaps post some pics tomorrow night.

:cheers

Kera foehunter:

great work on the hobgobblins!! i like how you did them very much and there cute tummy to

clam:

WOW - your goblin hero is soooo nice - I love everything about.

And it’s nice to see the Lord in colour - but like Bassman - as said in one of the other threads holding these pictures - the paintjob lacks a bit of contrast - but it might come when you finished those banners

All in all great, great work - and I think I’ve said it before, but I’ll do it again: 'this is the most interesting blogs about BfSP-conversions since Snotling, Ishkur and Xander started out a few years back.

Keep it up.

:cheers
