@Boyfights. Thanks so much. I am glad you like them. I love the space grots too( why so few models these days). IMy kids always ask me my favorite but I am terrible, I always like the last one I did best! So at the moment it is all tentacled monsters. And slaves… must not forget slaves… the artisan contest calls… so back to the slva auctions and pens of the undercity for me and Igor… there is no slave a good dawi zharr cannot …improve.
The slave project goes well but I am temporarily short of materiel (Igor has been slacking) so I have taken the time to finish off the remaining 6 Greater Jabberling riders (counts as Daemon pox riders)
So here are too many pictures
all together now
now just six lesser jabberling riders (counts as plague toads of nurgle) to finish off plus the heros and we are done
@Fuggit. Thanks! So glad you like them odd though they are. Sorry no big hats but we try to compensate with big hair.
@Tjub. Thanks mate. The creativity is somewhat due to you and others at cdo inspiring me. The noses are definitely from you!
As for the army … yeah I guess it is big. I tend to think of it as separarate legions. The idea is to recreate a proper cd Tamurkhans horde. So we have this latest bunch (the horde of Kilain) a fw Tamukhans horde army (2500 pts) plus the steampunk LoA army (3100 pts at present using boar centaurs as chaos knights and wolf riders as marauder horsemen and awaiting another 6 bcs at 360pts). Then there is the organic LoA army not quite fully painted amd stamding at 2000 pts. Then coz it is Tamurkhans horde I need a counts as rotbringer force but all I have at present is one counts as lord of blights ( on a snail). Then I will need a daemons of Hashut army( counts as nurgle)… few ideas here as yet nut I see skeleton masked Tjublings +command as counts as nurglings. Not sure for Flamebringers ( possibly converted/dwarfified) mantic lower abyssals No idea for drones or greater daemon may go for counts as Horticulois with mini volcanoes lava pools as counts as feculent gnarlmaws then … who knows… Zharr Vuxaa perhaps
Wow… just wow these are amazing and creative and at the same time terrifying and horrific to behold. Just imagine being a gnoblar or goblin and just seeing any of your creations, any of them whether it be these terrifying monsters or your skull cracker or possibly your techno bull centaurs I would probably run for the hills if I saw them in battle. Really just great. I really love your organic magma cannon and your helicopter dwarves BTW. Great job.

Uther the unhinged
Haha, Tjublings as Nurgling! Great idea, all of them. Once you go Chaos Dwarf it is hard to stop, I know... :cheers
Haha these are awesome, I love how you do your tentacles and the paint job on them gives them a very unsettling feeling! Are they made from green stuff?
The combined armies sound incredible too, I love your tjublings-as-nurglings idea I wish I had the patience to gather such a large force!
@Boyfights Yep all tentacles from greenstuff ( tentacles is easy and now I have a tentacle maker (I blame Tjub)). As for the size of the force it is a marsthon not a sprint (except for the artisans contest Aaaaah). Trust me the rate you are goong you?Tll get there soon enough!
Anyway I was on TGA and one member was wanting a Skullcracker (apparently they are good in AoS 2 (still on 2017 GH)). So as they were running an execution herd (loads of bull centaurs) and FW no longer make the model I suggested a BC Tenderiser conversion. Strangely couldn’t find a picture of one on CDO.
But… my steampunk army is not my first cd force. Long ago when I was a lurker here I tried my hand at making a CD army by converting dwarfs (I know revolutionary). I used Thommy H’s rulebook with Doom Harnesses (BC Tenderisers). So I made a couple to support the army. These were my first conversions other than beards and hats so please be gentle. Anyway I found some low quality photos and thought I’d put them up for fun. I know, I know I will get better photos later.
So here is my Tenderiser ‘Basruul the beast’ aka Bessy Moo
Finally finished painting the rest of the counts as Tamurkhans horde army. This is despite the counts as plague toads being completed over 18 months ago.
So here goes
heroes and heroines first
Introducing the counts as Kazyk the befouled …Bhorys the Blonde on his Khip beast
Then the counts as Sayl the Faithless and Nightmaw
…Mayghana the Muddled and her slave Fahraj
lastly 6 counts as daemon plague toads (lesser jabberling riders)(guns count as tongues)
@Boyfigjts: thr jabberlings are marbles wrapped in greenstuff. The legs of the lessr ones are mantic orc legs the greater ones cocktail sticks briken but not split in two then wrapped in green stuff. The tails on both are wire greenstuffed and gled to the body then wrapped in green stuff. The lesser ones spikes are gs aswell. I use a bit of greenstuff!
Ohh wow, I thought I actually recognized the tails from a toy or a bit or something at first, very cool! Such a great result from cheap materials, I love it
Artisans contest over so can put the pics up here.
First the ass cannon. I did a nurgle one because it seemed logical for it to be nurgle (did I just use the words logical and ass cannon in the same sentence?). It also slows me to cover any mistakes with cuts/sores etc
and for once I took WIPs. I started with some toy balls and some wire and papier mashe
Then blue stuff molds of logans’ arms
and his thighs, doubled up
and three of my LotR Chess set (one on its own was too small).
Tyrannid guns inserted
Logans’ arms and tyrannid little arms as fingers
more paper, some milliput and a couple of Ninja turtle feet
So weird, and so great. I really like the old-school feel Chaos Dwarf vibe all of these have. Much more twisted by chaos, and very unique! Very nice use of bits, casting, and modeling techniques too!
