Borador:

How did everyone else painting sessions go?

Obsidian Muse
I felt a little rusty, as I had not painted anything since the last comp entry on this website, which was the snow/white christmas diorama. So it felt a little strange, actually having to find time, to sit down and just paint. But I am a voyeur at heart, so I am looking forward to seeing what everyone else painted, and in turn I want to show people what I painted, so that desire was good to have - again.

So in a nut-shell, I felt a bit rusty, but excited.

G.2
I felt exactly the same, especially since my last painted miniature was rushed as well (it didn't even have proper highlighting). The last of the 3 which I've painted went quite well though and I am pretty pleased with how it turned out :)
Mainly looking forward to seeing everyone's effort though.

DAGabriel:

Hi guys, got a small problem. Wrote myself in for a workshop which will consume about 2 weekends and involves a diorama with 3 miniatures. Would you accept that as a team? The miniatures won`t be playable but installed on one base.

clam:

Just a quick message to let you all know that we had 17 wonderful entries.

I’ll try and get the matching done and set up the 8 “Round 1 - polls” - tonight.

When that’s done I’ll announce the opening of “Round 2”.

Will look as round one, but I’ll announce a few “requests” for who to enter, but also some minor rule changes (about un-even numbers, a 8th round, a second themed round, leaving the league open and last, ease the “signing up process” (was important starting the league to see if there was enough support, but no need to be so formal).

clam:

And ROUND TWO has just been announced:

Deadline: 31th March 2012, 11:59pm GMT

clam:

ROUND 1 - VOTING:

Okay, chose to use the sign up as basis for the match up’s.

Removed the 3 that unfortunately didn’t made it:

The basis list are:

1. clam

2. furrie

3. G.2

4. Borador

5. Blue in VT

6. Zanko

7. Lord Aldades

8. Hazkar

9. warh

10. Unzul

11. theforgefather

12. Bolg

13. ryanamandaanna

14. DAGabriel

15. Burske

16. Obsidian Muse

17. Uncle Fool

And then, I used a random-number service to generate the starter table. And Random.org to generate what match should have 3 opponents - gave a “3”, so the 3th match will have 3 participants.

Gave the following match up’s:

Marauding Mischief vs. Councel of Slavery

Dwellers Below vs. Itsie Bitsie Spider

The Blades of Kore vs. Herd vs. The Tainted Three

The hobgoblins from the northern marshes vs. The Defilers

Marauder Green Skins vs. SpaceHulk`s bane

Champions of Chaos vs. The Doomriders of Dun Khardrakk

For the Glory of Hashut vs. Team Mutant

Dawi Zharr Pitbulls vs. Big Hats of Doom

Polls will run for 10 days (10th March 2012). Happy voting.

warh:

furrie:

warh
same here

Zanko:

Thanx clam for posting and organizing the contest! :hat off

It looks really great - kudos! :cheers

Bolg:

Have voted in all the matches except the one i'm in.

warh
Likewise (:

Oh and I really enjoyed looking at all the entries!!!

Borador:

Thanks for organizing this Clam!

Voted for every matchup (voted for my opponent in my own group). Good luck everyone, great entries!

ryanamandaanna:

voted in all but mine. Great job everyone! Thanks, Clam!

clam:

Well thanks, but let me just say that an hour ago BSL wasn’t that dear to me. Making your entries anonymous and use the names/title, but basing the pairings on member names wasn’t the most cleaver thing. And setting up the polls … :frowning: Suddenly, I was glad that “only” 17 showed up at this.

But hay, all forgotten now - and will happily do it again next month.

Glad I could be of service.

I’ll not make my voting now - have struggled a bit with some of your photos, so won’t let it affect my opinion. So will wait a few days.

And @ ryanamandaanna, Furrie and warh - not voting in you own match up’s are your own call. No one says you can’t vote in your own match up’s - nor do I see any problems, should you decide voting for yourself - if it’s your favourite. But I do understand you decision, at might even end up doing the same, myself

Obsidian Muse:

Voted for every match-up except my own. My own match-up is probably already a lost cause with 11 against 1.

On the other hand, someone actually voted for me. Now on to paint the next team!

bas_2312:

Ack… I totally forgot to send my pictures :frowning:

Sorry guys…

clam:

Sorry to hear - but hey, there will always be a second chance - as you can enter it for round 2

Ghrask Dragh:

Great job clam, well done everyone on these entries I really enjoyed voting

This looks to be a very interesting competition

clam:

Thanks Ghrask D - and feel free to join us

Uncle Fool:

Thanks Clam for letting me enter, being a noob and all. I did vote for myself oops:) All the entries are brilliant I have an idea for round 2 and I can see I’m going to have to go full bore to keep up with all the other great entries:):):cheers

clam:

You’re welcome  - and it nice to have you aboard.

But to make it clear to all: “All members of CDO are FREE to join”

Keep up the good work.

Sorry to ask the same question again!
