I am quite pleased with the way the blunderers turned out. The only issue I have with them is that they’re the only CDs in the army with sleeves. I’ve been considering GSing gloves on them, so they have full-body protection from misfires.
I know it’s been a while since I posted anything here, been busy. I have been working on some stuff. I’ve got a sorcerer and a sneaky git on the way, and I finally managed to find some Chaos Marauders, which means I can work on some basic again.
Hmm. Apparently “later” means “in about a week”. Anyway, here’s my progress so far on the Git prototype. I was thinking about this while I was getting ready for Karate one evening. Also I really like the little ninja Gnoblar that comes with the Cathayan Ogre Maneater. That’s sort of where the concept of his clothes and pose came from.
The only problem I have with him so far is that the torso came out too big, but I’ll fix that on any future Gitz. I’m going to use the old Night Gobbo heads for these, and make the hoods part of the tunic. He’ll be painted mostly black, as a good ninja should be, but he’s only going to have a white belt. He is a Hobbo afterall.
I’m not sure when I’ll get round to finishing him, as there aren’t any Sneaky Gits in my Tale of Painters list. Hopefully there should be some painted stuff here soon. Blunderers and some Hobbo’s to start.
Here’re some pics of my WIP Sorcerer and a Bolt Thrower based on M3lvin’s tutorial:
The pictures aren’t great, I should get a stand of some sort for my camera. The Sorcerer’s head still looks weird to me, and I’m not sure what to do about it. I’m going to repair his mustache and add tusks to him, which might help. Does the fire look ok? Any suggestions for improvements to him?
The painting kind of stalled last month, so now I have 400 points to do by the 14th of October.
Hey perturabo I really love your army so far and think your doing a real cool job with converting :cheers
but I was wondering the BFSP cannon engineer u modelled has this hat and I keep seeing it everywhere where does it come from?? from which sprue ? plx let me know really want one to lol and keep it up with the good work
It’s made from the Chaos Marauder drum. They come in two parts, one of which has an arm attached to it. Just glue two of the other half together. You’ll need to trim the spike in the centre off one half, but it’s easy to do. Cheers for the comments!
Really nice touch to add the beard to the bolt thrower!

Cheers, I thought so. I used the old Skeleton Warrior shield logo with the crossed bones on it, because I thought it looked more squat than the other one. More like a Dwarf skull.
Anyone have any thoughts for the Sorcerer? I think I'll paint him, two BT's, and a couple of Hobbo's to get the 200 points I need for this month. After last months stuff. Hmm, deadlines are not my strong point.
The only thing is, I’m concerned that they’ll be entirely metal and slightly boring. I want to tie them into the rest of the army with the blue, but I can only think of one place to put it. Maybe the hats on the crew will help?
Cheers M3lvin! I was just looking for bits to make them more mechanical, and some of the bits on the Miner frames stuck out. I’m quite pleased with the result, even my 5 year old sister could tell what the mechanism was supposed to do.
Black Hammer, the chains came from my local hobby shop. They’ve got a rack of various tiny chains and twisted rope-looking brass wire. I think they might be for general railway/military modelling projects. I’d tell you the size, but I lost the packaging ages ago.
M’kay, more Sorcerer pictures for you. I thought the one I’d been working on lately was a bit flat, so I added another layer to his beard, and finally managed to give him tusks. The beard didn’t come out quite as I’d hoped, because GS only ever seems to stick to things I dont want it to. This one now just needs one more stud on the rim of his tunic and he can be based and painted. I’m thinking of doing a lava base for this bloke, as he’s a fire Sorcerer. Not sure what he should be standing on though.
And here, against all expectations, is a real, actual, photographically documented finished miniature by Perturabo! I know, I never thought it’d happen either.
The colours are darker in real life, and the highlight on the hat looks bloody awefull in the picture, but it’s done, and I’m happy. Actually, the hat really is quite bad, looking at the picture now.
