Yep, he is a metal Sorcerer. I agree about the other blokes head, but I wasn’t too sure what to do about it. I tried giving him eyebrows, but the GS just wouldn’t cooperate. I’ll have to see what I can do with it.
I was thinking of putting him on a small island of rock/ash and having lava all round the base. Good idea, or would less lava be better?
Yeah, the blue will be on the whole army. Thought I’d do something slightly different.
M'kay, more Sorcerer pictures for you. I thought the one I'd been working on lately was a bit flat, so I added another layer to his beard, and finally managed to give him tusks. The beard didn't come out quite as I'd hoped, because GS only ever seems to stick to things I dont want it to. This one now just needs one more stud on the rim of his tunic and he can be based and painted. I'm thinking of doing a lava base for this bloke, as he's a fire Sorcerer. Not sure what he should be standing on though.
And here, against all expectations, is a real, actual, photographically documented finished miniature by Perturabo! I know, I never thought it'd happen either.
The colours are darker in real life, and the highlight on the hat looks bloody awefull in the picture, but it's done, and I'm happy. Actually, the hat really is quite bad, looking at the picture now.
Perturabo
Wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! nice job perturabo this is a great figure and cool paint job
I agree with m3lvin about the fire sorcerer missing a forehead I think building up the hair might help. But I do really like to thicker beard, it does make a big difference for the model.
Well, as I’ve actually got around to doing something again, I thought I’d wrench this thread from it’s long slumber. I’m at University now, which is something of a double-edged sword hobby wise. I don’t have the money to buy anything new, or the time to put into conversions, but that means what time I do have can be spent painting my ridiculous backlog of miniatures. And so, the point: Here is the first of eight Blunderers I had room to bring back here the other week. This one was intended to finalise the scheme and took quite a while. Hopefully the rest of the unit will progress more quickly and I’ll be able to put some pics up in the next week or so.
I’m fairly happy with it. The picture seems to have washed out the colours though. The steel is darker and the bronze darker and slightly reddish.
Cheers Willmark. Fear not, he will be the only hatted one in the army. Something of a nod to the past.
Anyway, look! Progress!
That’s a better idea of what the colours look like in real life. I’m thinking about adding a black wash to the steel parts when I go home for Easter next week, they look too bright to me. I’ll try to get some decent daylight pics at some point.
I feel like such a lazy bastard when I look at all the cool conversions that everyone on the site churns out that I could never do, and if I could it would take around six times the amount of time it took everyone else. I love my OOP models but sometimes I just go “Damn. . .” In short: Awesome (and jealous of your skills.)
Cheers mate. :cheers And I must say I admire the dedication it must take to amass a collection of OOP models. If I didn’t have such easy access to convertible models I probably wouldn’t be able to manage a Chaos Dwarf army.
