Quality over quantity.
Size doesn’t matter.
etc. etc. etc.
Nuff said.
furrie:
?
what do you mean ?
Obsidian:
You mean 100 posts?
Okay, maybe a bit harsh but lately there seem to be many new topics/posts that in my opinion add nothing to this site and/or to Chaos Dwarfs in general.
There are many new members lately and while a lot of them open cool Blogs and such, and contribute new inspiring stuff to the site, I also have the feeling some post a lot of nonsense!
I try to filter these posts by rarely reading the off-topic section but when these things get posted outside the off-topic section (like this topic) it kinda annoys me.
Sorry if I sound harsh or grumpy, but that’s just me,
a grumpy old sod…
Viskar Zhragoth:
Congrats! I have recently done thee same…now…I’ll race you to four digits!

You mean 100 posts?Posts such as these are a fact of life, get used to 'em. However you are correct that this is in the wrong section. It should be moved to off topic.

One of my friends joined a forum. As soon as anyone posted anything in the forum he poste something like “mm, yes or i agree” That way he got the most posts on the forum ever, and everyone knew who he was.
Kera foehunter:
congrades aureatious on your 100 post i see how you like cd icon
here is one for you
Arashi:
Well, I´m just one post from 100, but I would never do a tread about it like this. Isn´t it a little too childish? There are already a lot of people that have reached it, so it´s not really that special…
But try with one million. THAT would be something to be proud of…

Moved this to off topic so your post count doesn’t go up in a thread about your post count.

Post count isn’t so important it is the quality from the posts that count, and I never posted a topic about my post count. But there is one exception and that is the time that I reached 10 000posts on da-warpath.

I disagree on the post count is meaningless front, quite vehemently actually. The thing is a post count that is gotten by a noob spamming “I agree” or “Yes” or stuff like that on any forum worth their salt will have that guy warned to stop the mindless spam or kick him. One thing I miss about the GW SG Forums is that when they moved to the combined ones a few years back now, they took away the post counter on the reasoning that the quality of the posts would show through the people who contributed more so then others, but when you’ve been away for over a year or you are a new poster then you look to the people with larger post counts as a basis of where to start for reference and who to talk to as well as in many cases, initial people to listen to in preference to others in relation to tactics and advice et al. especially if you are new to a gaming system.
Quality over Quantity is great and all, but Quality AND Quantity is better yet.
The post counter here is turned off in the off-topic spam area’s and turned on in the area’s where it counts so the post count is a reflection more of how one contributes to the community as a whole, rather then how much someone can spam, as I already mentioned, spammers get booted and a mod can laugh his stunty little ass off by just resetting the post count to 0 on the guy that spent the past 3-6 months spamming up “Yes” and “I agree” et al. to be the no.1 poster. Nothing beats smack down like that I can tell you!
Additionally, number of posts on this forum is also linked in some mysteriious way to the amount of slaves you acquire as well. Quite a nice and nifty feature I must say.
So go ahead and complain about a topic about post counts, say it isn’t a great achiement to hit 100 posts, but how many people join the forum then lurk and don’t contribute at all I ask? How many people contribute by using a post counter to egg them on a bit? And finally, new people, more posts, more threads not entirely centred on chaos-dwarfs, welcome to a growing forum community, we’re past the 1,000 member mark now, and more and more people are surely getting to know each other more so alot of posts will be on a more personnal level, I’ve seen it happen countless times before all through the interwebs, it’s a fact of life, and it all comes down to how you react to it - Bag out people who like post counts or accept them and move on.
Auretious Taak.
P.S. Viskar Zhragoth, race to 4 digit’s hey, lol…watch me forget about this without meaning to.
Willmark:
You’re right to a point post count and quality is important, but only to a point. It is far better to have quality over quantity. Have something to say and say it well.
You also point out slaves which are indeed important, because they are more difficult to earn. To me having a highly slave count is as important as having a high post count.
On CDO we celebrate when someone reaches 1,000.
Kera foehunter:

You're right to a point post count and quality is important, but only to a point. It is far better to have quality over quantity. Have someone to say and say it well.IF you are speaking of 1000 slaves, then I got your back, if you are speaking of 1000 posts, I'm gonna have to say meh.. whatever. I think post count is just another way for people to glorify themselves.. It's a worthless number and quite frankly it's like drinking lukewarm water.. It should only be attempted when one hasn't had anything to drink in a long time.
