…Beards?

Loki:
Sorry i put the wrong comment in this thread that means there is a cd blog some where telling some one i like their Imperial guard x.x
Sorry about that al-hashut, it should have read i really like how you have placed the turret at the back of the chimera it makes a nice change and gives a great effect and totally alters the look of the tank, keep up the good work
al-hashut:
No worries Loki, thanks.
Here’s the painted pics of the Howitzer:
And polished off the Chimera and stowage. Added GS to the large bedroll on the back to make it sag over the sides of the roof and (thanks to a zen like, beta-blockeresque post-world cup pub painting session) wrote Pianosa on both scrolls.
Best regards
AGPO:
The stowage really adds to the model it must be said.
al-hashut:
Cheers AGPO, here’s a little more stowage for your perusal.
I got a few ebay tanks and have been taking them apart and rebuilding to my tastes. First up is an old Leman Russ, IMO the best stowage job i’ve done on a tank. Still WIP (need to fill up the front bumber space) but let me know what you think/can be improved on.
al-hashut:
Here’s another ebay rescue jobs. Stupidly left the sides back in london so it’ll be WIP for a week or so til i can get back down there. Let me know what you think/anything that could be added. Not as much stowage as on the Russ but i’ve added spent shells from the H/Bolter and had my first go at magnetised weapons (turret) so i can make various attachments to play it as Hellhound and variants or even a hydra:
AGPO:
The tanks look great! One of the issues I have with a lot of 40k armies is that they don’t look like they’re involved in any sort of active duty, everything is just a little too cerimonial. Your guys look like they’re on the front lines. The one thing I would say about the Russ is to lose the purity seal. If you’ve got a tank on sustained active service more or less the first thing to go will be the little scrap of parchment on the front. I’d replace it will a metal icon or some painted on script. Seems better suited to me
Obsidian:
You add so much character to the tanks with those extra bitz, nice! :hat off
The green ones are obviously GS, the yellow/brown ones resin?
Loki:
Now that?Ts how tanks should look, covered in bits the troops need to use which are to heavy to carry, have you thought about adding in any tank riders ?
al-hashut:
@AGPO: Cheers man, i think i’ll replace the purity seal with painted on script or graffiti, as you said.
@Obsidian: Dank u. The khaki yellow and green bits are from Tamiya tank stowage kits, you get lots of ear for about a fiver per set.
@Loki: Thanks. I’ve thought about tank riders but in all honesty, i’d rather have the miniatures on the ground doing what counts. We’ll see, my Green stuff skills are gradually getting better, so maybe one day i’ll be up for a complete sculpt for a tank rider/casualty hitching a ride.
In my bid to stretch the bitz box to breaking point, i won 8 pairs of (the same) cadian les off of ebay for the princely sum of £2, 2 of which were used for the howitzer team, the other 6 (along with GS and DIY bionics) made 7 new troopers for the mighty 22nd:
AGPO:
Really impressed by the respirator, I can’t wait to see these guys painted though

Hashut’s Blessing:
I still curse you! I don’t even have a use for the IG and you make me want them more and more with every bloody update
^^
al-hashut:
Cheers guys.
@Obsidian: No, i’m not dutch nor a dutch speaker but i’ve been to Amsterdam enough to know the basics
@HB: Ha. Come on HB, you know you want to enlist.
Two more troopers on the way:
Firstly, the guys with 2 bionic legs and a bionic eye. He’s really been in the wars.
Next up, a trooper taking cover behind a bulkhead. I wanted it to look like he’d just thrown himself against it and is about to return fire. His legs are from a plastic Orlock model.
I’ve just sculpted another set of legs so it looks like i’ve been able to stretch another squad of 10 out of the ol’ bitzbox and £2’s worth of ebay legs. And they say Warhammer isn’t value for money
Kered:
I have to say I love the bionic legs but most of all you army has a lot of character and ingenuity at my local store all the imperial guard armies are just carbon copies of each other with little imagination. good luck with with the rest of the army.
AGPO:
Any chance of a bionics tutorial?
Hashut’s Blessing:
I may very well enlist, but if I do, it’ll be making them as Star Wars models (whether the Rebels or Imperials or Clones is up for debate. Plus, I may make a Battle Droid army ). Regardless, I think I specifically want THAT army
Excellent job on the bionics! Any tutorials as to how to how to do the bio-legs?
Rhazzouth:
Love that bionics really impresive, keep up this good work
al-hashut:
Thanks. Yeah, i’ll make a bionics tutorial in the future then, its fairly simple though, just a paperclip, two small sprue clipping and a bit of greenstuff.
Ok, finished off the last one (/10)
And a final group shot before painting.
