Hashut’s Blessing:
Excellent. Keep them coming, please! I am loving the whole feel of the army thus far. In fact, I would very much like to see an overall army shot to see how it all looks together ^^
al-hashut:
Thanks for the comments guys. @HB, an army shot will be a while as the models are split between uni and ,my hometown.
But in the meantime…it must have been part 6 of the Pacific, that got me thinking about losing limbs and hunkering down behind cover. Here is the result, one unfortunate looking trooper:
Loki:
Cool conversion work, that will make a great objective
Hashut’s Blessing:
Ah, I know how that feels. It’s how I’ve not managed to take pictures of my CD army properly for so long
Excellent idea and a particularly well done sculpt. Top-notch! Will it be an objective marker or something?
al-hashut:
It could serve as one but i wanted a few extra lasgun troopers (to be able to swap in and out special weapons, etc) and had a spare leg, some arms and a head, so i GS pressed the torso and sculpted the other half a leg. The 40mm base design was something i’ve been playing with for a while cos i needed a way to showcase some posters.
Was thinking about a chaos star or khorne sybol painted on the wall’s exterior, but was worried that would be overkill
Hashut’s Blessing:
Sounds very cool to me Looking beautiful (if unfortunate for him
).
Did you just print very small posters? they look excellent! It amuses me that the poster says they will wint he war with courage and he’s sat there with his leg missing, lol
Sousunou:
I love this blog. The way you have taken the latest pictures made me have to check twice because I thought at first they were they real life inspirations for your army. Great paint job and really well thought out sculpts.
al-hashut:
Thanks Sousunou, thats a real compliment (and i think thats the first time i’ve ever been quoted in a sig ). HB, the posters are printed and collected from various forums and google. Warseer had a very good thread based off of WW2 propoganda.
Here’s the painted pics of Ex-PFC Wintergreen.
And an average grunt with a bit of swagger
al-hashut:
As my role in society largely consists of buying food, reading the occasional book and going through 2 weeks of hellish exams biannually; i don’t have much in the way of cash. Therefore, i continued my trend of squeezing every last figure possible out of my bitz box:
Hope you like him. Should i sculpt a handle for his cup/coffee mug?
Hashut’s Blessing:
Looking damned excellent as ever and very good use of the spare parts I love the Ig Stick (or whatever the Imperials call them). Wondering if a little GS to make it a cigar would make it that much better? The cup is good as is and could even be made to look like a tin, making it seem like he’s in a protracted war…
Very cool and I wish I had these inspirations, lol You’re always making me wnat to get some Imperial Guard, damnit
Loki:
Great work once again, this has to be one of the coolest guard armies that i have ever seen
al-hashut:
Cheers HB and Loki.
Finished up my defensive line of mortars.
And added a handle for the coffee mug to better illustrate it. Although thanks to Hashuts Blessing i have a niggling desire to include beans/mess tin and a small hexamine cooker on another GS/Bitzbox trooper
Thorne:
the last time I saw imperial guard this inspirational they were works in progress of Chris “Ive lost count of how many golden deamons I own” Blaiir’s collection.
Hashut’s Blessing:
Excellent job on the mortars! They all looka s though they are part of the same piece of defencive line (I.E. One make shift barrier wide enough for all three teams).
The handle helps to make it look much better and w00t! for helping to inspire. glad that I could be of service. Looks damnably epical! I want all of those models now, damn thee!
al-hashut:
Thanks HB and Thorne, very flattered.
I’ve put the hexie cooker on the back burner (pun intended…sadly). Instead, here’s what i’ve been tinkering with.
I’ve tried to only use bits from the heavy weapon sprue (and a part of the sprue itself) so that should anyone want to they can copy it with ease. I’ll get around to doing a tutorial where i’ll do a breakdown of parts/where to cut.
Presenting, the Pianosan Mk.III Light Howitzer
Loki:
Great work on the Mk.III Light Howitzer looks really good, the only thing i would say are the wheels are a little small so bigger ones would work better, but that just me
Bassman:
Great army. I love your work here.
The howitzer is really cool but it is in dire need of bigger wheels. It’s like it cought fire and only the metal parts of the wheels survived… if you know what I mean. I love the polka dotted shield, lol If yu leave them like they areyou’d be my master!!!
Painteing is a little bit messy, if you cleaned up a little bit they would be even better
AGPO:
This army goes from strength to strength and makes me really want to do a guard army. I’d love a tut on the howitzer but I’ll add my voice to those asking for bigger wheels
al-hashut:
Thanks guys. The wheels may still yet be swapped out when i find some suitable replacements (i’m thinking some kind of hotwheels toy)
@AGPO: Tutorial is in the pipline.
Secondly, some of my mail arrived, so i think i’ll be doing some more sculpting:
And thanks to this i’m going to be retconning my armour for some added realism:
I’ve already began on this chimera (i cannot stress how short the time was between getting the kit and adding the stowage. I’d wanted to do this for a while now)
