Yep, they’ve had this posted up for almost 2 weeks now.
They stopped them due to expenditures, it has nothing to do with what or what not they could learn…

And also confirms the attitude of GW that Jervis Johnson was blabbing about in Standard Bearer late last year - that Warhammer wasn’t primarily a tournament game. Regardless of whether its about money or about the purpose of Warhammer, they’ve proven the point.
Although I’m not a tournament player, not even at my FLGS, I think its a shame as its reduces the scope and feel of the hobby.

The reasonong they are giving has to due with their combining of US and Canadian GW into one. Of course the reason for dropping LA games day was that they were opening 5 stores in that area this year.

there is one, that was literally 2 block from the GW one. But the staff at teh local FLGS are a bunch of braindead monkeys…
They don’t know anything about GW stuff, yet they talk bad about it all day long. In fact, 2 of the local staff talk bad about everything in the store… It’s just pathetic.

If rumours can be believed, it seems the GT will be back next year, but using an official tournaments book. A book that could potentially include this new army that is rumoured to be coming out.

What I’d like to see is a tournament similar to 'Ard Boyz that’s entirely independent. Really, all that needs to happen is a central ruling group takes charge, they put out word to other retailers across the US. They “Buy into” the tournment with a really small amount (just enough to be able to cover the minimal expenses of prizes and other expenses). This lets those retailers participate in the tournament and send their people up to the finals.
The reason they’d want to buy into the tournament is because a larger tournament with a similar set up to 'Ardboyz will draw more people than a local tournament could.
