There was a thread somewhere on doing BB barrels, instead of drilling old models. The idea was to use a rod of the same diameter as the barrel -4mm. Dip the end in black paint and use it as a stamp to get a perfect circle.

That's Fuggit's method. Check his blog for pics! Back on topic, the unit looks great and I love the command group conversions, however, why you mounted them on 25mm bases?
The greenstuff experiment didn’t go so well so I need to do something similar to Fuggits method methinks. My attention now is primarily on the Artisans Contest entry you see
I mounted them on 25mm and on varying height to get the needed spacing for two ranks. Did the same on the infernal guard as they’re so wide and I didn’t want them to stand sideways.
Will it impact me negatively gaming wise? Probably but I don’t care to much tbh. Rule of cool is my school!
Who cares about rules penalties? Go for what looks best. But yes, it will mean your army gets a wider front and possibly less attacks against some enemies, who in turn may get to strike with more troopers against the Blunderbusses.
Good work as always Red. That death lore necromancer daemonsmith most be the closest thing to a black metal goth in Zharr-Naggrund. Making lore specific daemonsmiths is pretty cools. Have plans for a death-smith myself.
I don’t think you’ll have trouble with anybody regarding the large bases - it’s just a big disadvantage for you during gaming. But goin cool school is the way to go. But considering how blunderbusses really only work with a minimum of 20 shooting models - it’s gonna be a pretty damn long regiment if you bring 24.
Hehe, yeah I’m kinda weak for the vintage Undead army and since I know which book I’ve got under the tree this year we’ll see what inspiration comes my way so nice having a multi use sorcerer.
Sadly I think that the blunderbusses will be for friendly gaming only. Not that the bases will be an issue in a tournament but I struggle to get their point cost validated compared to what they bring.
Still I think they are perhaps THE defining unit of this range. Fantastic one piece sculpts.
