[Archive] Big noses and bigger hats. OOP Dawi Zharr!

Fuggit Khan:

That Iron Daemon is a real beast of a war machine, I like it.

The crew feeding coal in to the boiler is a very nice touch

Admiral:

That’s an evil choo-choo train to be proud of. Well done!

Ben Saunders:

That is awesome. I look forward to seeing it painted.

Yodrin:

Thats a coooool thing right there. Can´t wait to see it painted!!

Red Skullz:

Cheers everyone  still have some surprises left but unsure on when I’m able to complete it as I had a brutal fall on the ice today. Landed square on my right shoulder…so on sick leave now and on meds from tomorrow so here’s hoping that it works

Admiral:

Get well soon, then! :hat off

Malorndk:

Yeah give it a good rest man. Sorry to hear about the accident

Red Skullz:

Cheers chaps  not broken anything it seems, “just” a good bruising but the painkillers helps.

So I luckily had the Iron Daemon almost finished before I fell so I managed to glue the crew in place and dullcoat it.

Picdump.

This is a CDO special as I won’t run this up on BoLS or my blog before part 7 (part 5 comes up this Saturday). Now I thought I’d ask for help from the CDO community. I’d love to attach some fluff to this beast so if someone is willing to write up something I’ll quote it and post it with the BoLS update

Here’s a tip on my thoughts behind this build, “The last bull”.

Anyone who feels like it can post some fluff here on my plog

Regards,

Tommy

TheHoodedMan:

I fear I can`t help out with the fluff ;-), but your “last bull” is a great one.

Although I like the forgeworld model I enjoy the creativity of scratch builds and also think they are more fitting for the old school big hats.

Red Skullz:

Cheers mate  well writing isn’t my thing tbh. I have good ideas but I struggle to put those into written form.

Happy you liked this one as there will be more scratchbuilds

Yodrin:

Sorry to hear about your shoulder, but glad it went ok with it after all:)

That said…That tin can looks awesome. Love the conversion, colors and the base!!! Great work!!

Kom forresten på 14 plass på Challange, var min første turnering:)

Doombeard:

Thats one unique Iron Demon! I like the originality and the crew are great =) Feels like it would steam roller over anyone in its path!

Red Skullz:

Cheers chaps  this build kinda made itself when I had the parts figured out and I’m happy that I didn’t take the easy way out with the boiler room. I reckon it will attract a ton of attention so I’ll have to hellbound it I guess.

I’m testing out how my arm works (shoulder and elbow are still very sore) and painting up the last details on my warmachines. I think I’ll build a magma cannon on steam carriage next.

Bloodbeard:

Far north of the hot ashen wastes of the Dark Lands, between the cold snowy peaks of The Mountains of Mourn lies an old Dawi Zharr fortress known only as Frozen Fang. A tall spike amidst mountain tops made from stone, iron and ice.

Only acccesable through a long dark tunnel carved in rock and melted in ice by the loss of life and blood from thousands of slaves. In the infinite darkness of the tunnel, there is always the sound of roaring thunder, for here reigns a demonic engine named The Last Bull.

A gigantic Iron Demon build by the Lord Prophet of the Fang himself. The Last Bull is driven - or rather kept in control - only by the prophets most trusted hellsmith engineer.

The Iron Demon and it’s crew are tasked with keeping the tunnel free of ice, by breaking the walls with sheer force of mass and transporting scores of captured savage mountain orc slaves to an outpost on the Plain of Zharr.

The Last Bull is named after the Lord Prophets first Taurus Brimestone. The great Tauruses of the warm ashen wastes cannot sustain themselves in the cold blizzards of the mountains. And rather than letting his trusted mount free, the lord prophet saved the burning essens of his Taurus before it grew too cold.

With unholy enchantments and rituals used normally for the binding of demons, the Prophet was able to bind the fiery soul of Brimestone to the machinery of his enormous Iron Demon.

But never has The Lord Prophet forgiven the council of Zharr-Naggrund for tasking him with ruling The Frozen Fang, he is forever blaiming them for the freezing death of his Great Taurus Brimestone.

Such is the rage encaged in the iron sarcophagus, that in times of war, the Lord Porphet and his master Hellsmith will derail the Iron Demon and The Last Bull will follow it’s master to war and slaughter once again.

Red Skullz:

Aye, and a double aye at that  I love it, thanks for writing that up mate! Would you mind that I quote it up in part 7?

Oh and Yodrin, sorry for not replying on your Challenge result mate. Veldig bra, håper du hadde det morsomt  Geir sendte meg bilder av hæren din som han tok. Lekkert!

Quote all you want. Ended up containing quite a bit of army fluff too - don't know if you had some other story in mind. But I couldn't find anything in the blog about the story of the army.

Jeg bliver altid glad når jeg læser norsk. Det er meget nemmere at forstå end det sludder svenskerne skriver.

Var artig det, men jeg vet ikke om det er helt min sene. Takk takk, er fonøyd med Hashut gjengen ja:)

Red Skullz:

Thanks and I really appreciate that you’ve touched the nerve of the background I’ve kinda envisioned but haven’t been able to pen down just by reading through my posts

Det er jo litt morsomt at norsk og dansk er ganske likt skriftsmessig mens i tale er det lettere å forstå svensk

Red Skullz:

My deathshriekers are done.
