Wait till you see what I have planned for Queen Helgar…
Kera foehunter:
ummm !! this is a faimly site Mr Reiver !!
* Kera smiles* i bet you do !!!
Border Reiver:
Well the good queen will get a new dress and hat out of the deal…
And now for a little somthing I’ve been thinking about for a while - a Kollossus
because some warlords want the latest thing in daemon driven transportation
And in case anyone’s wondering - the runes state “Lord Kurgan Grudgebear gathered for Hashut - 1 giant, 24 orcs, 20 goblins” - I’ve started a running tally of what casualties are caused in the battles that it has been used in.
Warhammerman:
Dude that kollossus is awesome and as a matter of fact I had a similar idea.
Zanko:
Awesome Siege-Tower/Kollossus! :hat off
Really stunning item - it fits great in your army!
Especially like the caterpillars and the Assyrian style ornaments at the flank! :cheers
Also the idea of recording the casualties . it makes it much more unique!
:hashut
Kera foehunter:
Omg !!! its huge !!! Where is the slave army to feed that deamon power thing!!
Border Reiver:
That’s what Walker’s O&G army is for.
Loki:
Awesome work making and painting the Kollossus also great work on the big hat conversion of the AOW CD model, looks really good
Border Reiver:
What I like about this was that it cost about $45.00 to make
1:72 scale Churchill tank (for the tracks)
a threepack of 1mm styrene sheets (1 1/2 I still have)
a pack of 5mm strips
some jeweller’s chain
some brass rod; and
a new glue tube.
What I didn’t like was the way that, no matter what I did some of the seams just could get smooth…
But I was really happy with how the decorations turned out.
Thorne:
love the trojan hat
Bassman:
WoW! Great stuff here!
Do you know what is the coolest in this building?
The AoW warlord attitude that says: I’m totally badass riding this beast and you s@#ck!!! lol
Border Reiver:
Kurgan’s build while riding this beast is:
Armour of the Furnace;
shield
Hailfire Gun (Magical blunderbuss S5, with x3 Multishot)
Great Weapon (because sometimes you need to to be upclose and personal with S6)
219 points, plus the Kollosus - kinda pricey but the look on your opponent’s face is soooo worth it.
Thorne:
Give it a few years and a I should think that painted detail about the casualty report will look so darn cool I would love ot see the whole side of that thing covered in runes as a monument to chaos dwarf supremacy ! Awesome truely awesome !
Border Reiver:
And last night I was able to put the varnish to the last of Akkad the Grim’s Raiders, meaning that the unit has now been successfully repainted.
I am now going to begin the touchups for my Black Orcs. Hopefully, over my holidays I can get these badboyz done.
Now this means that the fairly ambitious goal that I set for myself back around April was not met. At some point after the New Year I will post my shortcomings…
Border Reiver:
I’ve looked at Ravening Hordes and can put together a very respectable army with everything I’ve touched up this year:
Lord
Kurgan Grudgebearer (Lord on Taurus with Armour of the Furnace and the Black Hammer) - 440 points
Ozymandias Ironbeard (sorcerer lord on lammasu with 4th level and DMOD) - 525 points
Heros
Ashkelon Runeforger (Sorcerer with second level and 2 dispel scrolls) - 150 points
Gath Firestone (Sorcerer with second level, Black Gem of Gnar and the Talisman of Protection) - 150 points
Meggido Fireforge (Battle Standard Bearer with Armour of Gazrakh and a Sword of Might) - 135 pts
Core
Akkad thye Grim’s Raiders - 20 CD Warriors with Great weapons and Full Command (War Banner)- 275 pts
The Ninevah Regiment - 20 CD Warriors with Great weapons and Full Command - 250 pts
The Immortals - 20 CD Warriors with Great weapons and Full Command - 250 pts
Sargon’s Regiment - 18 Blunderbussiers with Full Command - 246 points
The Jericho Regiment - 15 Blunderbussiers with Full command - 210 points
Garek’s Mob - 10 Hobgoblins with shields - 30 points
Special
Lurgal’s Mob - 10 orc arrer boyz with a musician - 65 points
Da Prickas - 2 Bolt Throwers - 60 points
Hashut’s Lightning - 2 Death Rockets - 160 points

Hashut’s Children - 6 Bull Centaurs with Great weapons, Heavy armour, Shields, and Full command - 171 points
Hashut’s Thunder - 2 Earthshakers - 220 points
Total points value - 3,331 points
Damn, I’ll be over 4K easily when I’ve finished repainting this army. This doesn’t count the following that have also been repainted/painted for the first time this year:
Avatar of War mini (picture up 3 Nov 09)
2 CD Heroes with Shields;
1 CD Hero with 2 Hand Weapons;
6 Hobgoblin Archers;
Tenderizer; and
The Kollossus/Siege Tower.
Awaiting the brush for next year:
2 Bull Centaur Characters (Hyksos Forgebreaker and Enlil Shatterstone);
1 CD Hero with the Battlestandard (Meggido Fireforge);
1 Sorcerer (Ozymandias Ironbeard);
Hobgoblin Hero on a Wolf;
11 Hobgoblin Wolf Rider Archers;
20 Black Orcs with shields (Ozymandias’ Janissaries);
23 Sneaky Gitz with a musician (Garek’s Mob);
The Temple Guard (6 more Bull Centaurs, with a musician).
Oh, yes and about 25 Marauder era Chaos Dwarfs
Border Reiver:
Alright - I got the Black Orcs done. They are a mix of the 6th ed metals (mostly redone to carry shields), some 5th ed metals, and 1 solitary 5th ed plastic Black Orc. I find it somewhat odd that our “elite” infantry unit is a unit of slave troops but there is historical precedent - so these are my Janizaries, Blorcs raised from pups to be loyal and fighters.
As you can see, I also got a tub of static grass (the Scorched Grass variety) and added it to all of the previously done models to make the bases more interesting than just black ballast. I will not be reposting pics of all the previously done units.
Kera foehunter:
great group of black orcs i like the hero br
Border Reiver:
I tried to get motivated to paint Tarka’s Ridas - the Wolfrider unit that is infamous for passing leadership tests when they really shouldn’t - but just couldn’t do it. Instead, I’ve started my 3rd ed CDs - The Kinslayers.
They are led by the Master of Madness
Two cronies (so far)
A converted 6th ed Dwarf plastic musician
and a converted Banner Bearer
I’ll be using one of the wonderful banners from WOH6 for his little rag.
20 more to go…
And I should get planning on Golden Hat XI
Bolg:
nice conversions they go well with the other models. (and your Master of Madness is my general, lovely miniature)
Kera foehunter:
Nice 3 addition group there B R your always pulling out surprises !!
great job
