Old conversion, thought I’d share!

minty:
looks nice, though I have to say not mcuh like a bezerker in ymy eyes, just a naked dwarf.
He seems to sane, a nice conversion though:)
PS: isn’t that a halfling model as the base. Looks like one of lupin croops fighting cocks?
Grimstonefire:
Its an old slayer. Its a good conversion of that model, and would look perfect alongside a marauder CD army IMO.
Obsidian:
You are both right.
I might have cut of his left arm and replaced it with a tentacle wouldn’t he already been slightly painted. Hmm, might still do it anyhoo!
Kera foehunter:
GREAT JOB Obsidian now i know what to do with some of my slayers
Hashut’s Blessing:
Simple and good looking conversion, but I’d say it looks a tad too static to give the impression of a beserker. I like the weapon especially. Where’s it from?
Obsidian:
It is indeed a bit too static for a Berserker but because he was so, uhm… Nekkid I thought it was proper enough hahaha!
The weapon is from the beastmen sprue where you can find more great blades, especially for great weapons!
Hashut’s Blessing:
Oh yeah.
P.S. IK did think it was because of the lack of armour. Either sculpt some on or cut a leg off, angle it slightly and greenstuff a knee to make it look as though he is running.
Kera foehunter:
he make a real cool pirate
Obsidian:
Hmm, actually took some pics of the painting in progress…
I think I’ll go back and finish it next week!
Kera foehunter:
looks great! are you using the new gw wahes on this figure Obsidian??
Obsidian:
Actually no, I started painting this one well over 2 years ago I think. Did buy the washes last week though, so I’ll give 'em a try on the rest of the fig.
Kera foehunter:
let me know what you think .I having people telling me there great but i don’t want to buy more paints i have tons of
Willmark:
Actually that looks pretty good. I think you’ve captured the look and feel well. As you mentioned you may want to add a tentacle to any further ones.
Obsidian:
Yup, might do a unit of them when other more important projects are finished and will go all out on them. Tentacles, mutations, broken armour etc, etc…
wallacer:
He’s so fat that the helmet doesn’t actually look out of scale on him.
Nice job.
Hashut’s Blessing:
A simple bit of metal on the horns and weapon head and he looks done to me… Don’t know why they changed the name to washes (they ARE still inks, after all) and then seem so adamant that they aren’t inks (yes, I told them that and they got huffy…). Still, show us how it looks soon!
Obsidian:
Actually they are not inks mate. The contents are to say very different. Inks always had to be watered down. If you thinned them down enough that there was almost no pigment in there you could use them as washes. (which I did after I blended to get them to cross over even smoother and bind the several layers together)
So to me they are different. To me they come a bit more like te dipping method than to inks.
snyggejygge:
I like it, reminds me of 3:rd edition Chaos Dwarfs.
Hashut’s Blessing:
I never had to water down my inks and the paints are now too thin for my liking as well. personal preference (having seen Sousonou’s washes, they seem to be exactly the same, just different shades/colours etc…).
