[Archive] Clam's Garage (WIP Chaos Dwarf Grenadier)

Da Crusha:

I like him a lot, his helmet does look a bit soft but other than that he looks great! cant wait to see the beard.

clam:

Thanks Da Crusha and Zanko - an yes, I always do prefere an honest opinion - as long it’s objective and constructive

A little more progress - but mostly to show better pictures - think these are very close to the real thing.

And then an early WIP with the basic scape of the standard itself.

Hope these gives you a better chance to comment on.

Willmark:

Awesome very marauder-ish in its style!

Da Crusha:

Bravo, I would field him in my army, for sure :cheers

Glad it's a noticeable resemblance.

@Da crusha
Thanks, but you can't have him. He is mine, my precious :D

But I might do a mould for a resin cast to sharpen it a bit more - so if that turns out well - who knows ;)

clam
... and then you hopefully wouldn't have forgotten all your old friends here on CDO! ;P

                       :hashut

clam:

Of course, I wouldn’t forget about them - how could I?

Zanko:

I my point of view “Hasslefree Miniatures” would be a good choice for a release!

                      :hashut

Bolg:

love the miniature! when can I buy one (:

Loki:

Awesome work my friend  he really fits in with the other models , can’t wait to see this guy painted , any idea what you will put on the banner ?

Sjoerdo:

Looking good! Very Marauderesk!

Helmet is great (love the wings) and the beard is awesome.

Some hints. Its seems like his plate skirt is a bit high up the waist. You could try to enlarging his body armour, like this. I feel it would bring him better into proportion.

clam:

Once again, thank you guys.

Zanko
Think, I leave it up to Sjoerd to do the Hasslefree Chaos Dwarf range. I’m nowhere near the standard of HF miniatures … yet

You can’t buy it - but I might cast a few just to learn how to - if I’m succesful with more then one - I’ll let my friends know

Loki
The banner will be plain and simple - so I can practise my freehands skills

Sjoerdo
Thanks for the nice words and input, and I see what you are getting at and I’ll try following you advice.

Loki:

Really looking forward to seeing this guy painted, dont keep us waiting to long

clam
I disagree! ;P

Your mini is (imo) of a very good standard - better than many released minis you can buy elsewhere! :cheers

In my opinion your mini would fit brilliant to the Hasslefree Chaos Dwarf line - and Sjoerdo isn't the only sculptor there (you indicated this fact to me, you remember?!?!)! :D

                      :hashut

Borador:

looking great! wish I was that good at sculpting!!

also, that would be a great Marauderstyle banner bearer for any unit hinthint

keep it up! :cheers

and you probably know this but I’ll give these tips anyway:

* never rush or be hasty

* NEVER drop your mini when the putty is still not hard and put it in a safe place

(I’m almost like captain obvious now, ain’t I ;P)

Obsidian:

You sneaky git, I didn’t know you could sculpt that well! :cheers

clam:

I’ve found Blue VT’s painted MM90s so inspiring - and have to try out a more bright colour scheme.

Before I strip the 6 that I’ve already (more or less) painted - I did this test run

Its not a true MM90 - but one hell of a substitute by Chaos Dwarf master Sjoerd Trouwee

Harnick Neckcleaver

So what do you think, should I change colour scheme for these guys? I thing I should

dutch FTW!

i thin the paint scheme is very nice btw.:hat off

warh:

My advice is to allways listen to me;P but that’s what i thinkx.x

This guy looks great! it would be awesome to see a whole army in the same colour;)

clam:

If I redo the MM90s I can make sure - that not a single one of them will get the same colours

Long live army colour consistency - but look out for the Barbie Dwarf :stuck_out_tongue:
