Alright so I got around to getting some pictures taken of whats been completed, or mostly done paint wise on my CDOs. Which is not very much right now. This will help me keep going and keep putting stuff up.
(Scrapped, stripped, and now awaiting new work. [9/6/2013])
These are the warriors from BfSP that I have finished, or nearly finished with the paint job. These are just mask and beard for they have yet earned the big hat (unlike the unit champion on the left). My shield freehand are not yet complete either, just the general base of what its supposed to look like, so I need to finish those, some inking on the two right warriors and they should be done.
And a banner detail shot, first real attempt at freehand over two years ago.
My sorcerer I created, I love how outlandish he looks, hope yall do too.
Cape detail right there
And here is his ugly mug from the front…
And here are some shots of my scratch built death rocket, points if you can guess all the parts used!
And the side
Hope yall liked it, got more work to do on the stunties, so I will try and keep everything updated.
What kind of head did you use for your sorcerer (it is a sorcerer!?!?!)?

ooohh!ooohh! oooohhh! i know! can i say it?!
it's a leftover dwarf warrior bit, if i'm right, although i have never discovered what use it is for the warriors.
Yeah, its a left over bit from the dwarf warriors sprue that is meant (or at least in my eyes) to be a cap of some sort to a battle standard or flag or whatever. As for the sorcerer, its really a ridiculously huge hat for him.
I got another sorcerer in the making who has one just like it! Currently about to flesh out the rest of these warriors with green stuff, prime em, and paint em. Next are my great weapons, after that, rocket crew, and finally from there my Bloodletter-standin-as-Blorcs super conversion minis!

That's a very interesting idea! I was thinking about just the opposite for my army, to have the regular Warriors wearing big hats, and then having the Obsidian Guard (Indy GT list) wearing more chaosesque helms and masks, like if they have gone way more crazy and chaotic than their brethren.
Here is another sorcerer, sculpted and converted and painted him today, bearded up 3 other warriors, and started painting another batch of three. should have them finished tomorrow.
The other sorcerers always spoke badly of brother Sannacharib, because of his large hand. They would always say “He doesn’t rank well with others!”
Great start on the army, really like the death rocket very cool take on it using the organ gun, keep up the good work looking forwad tos eeng more from your self soon
My advice would be is to thin down your paints (don’t worry, it’s something i constantly have to tell myself). When you see the brushstrokes like on your standard and shields, where there are big blotches of paint, it’s a sure fire sign that the paint is too thick. If it’s a little wetter, you’ll get a more even brush stroke.
My other piece of advice is to take pictures where there is more light. Those are very dark. Even 3 lamps arranged in a triangle will help (put them in some sort of fashion where there are no shadows). Coolminiornot.com has some great photography tips.
@Elro: As I stated earlier in the posts, the shields were not yet completed and more or less were practice runs on free-handing. No way am I happy with the way they look as of right now, the red back ground on the banner is completed but I need to go back and finish working on the free-handing.
Also yes, I have trouble getting good light, anywhere with any camera, and I will try and remedy this.
@Everyone else, I just got back in from a weekend out of town trip so I should be getting things moving again shortly.
Is lurking, and working on his minis. Unfortunately there has been a serious complication in the vast vortex and confusion that is life and priorities are priorities so no, I have yet to abandon the beard! I will get photos up maybe in the coming week although no promises.
Next month for sure will be so much better for the hobby. So don’t hold your breath yet!
So its been a long due absence from this web site and with much work really. I’ve been away from home for a few years and now with a career. I aquired a earth shaker late last month and nearly finished it. I’ll be getting serious with this army again. My love of the hobby has been rekindled and pics will be up in January when I’m home again!
Minor update: made It home and acquired all my old minis and played a few games lately. My lovely wife bought me a massive tube of green stuff and a proper set of sculpting tools
Alright so I have landed back to my humble apartment, with all my minis. Including 40k. So if everything goes as planned, tomorrow should represent a few hours to work on my minis. I will be stripping the paint off of all of my old converted BfSP dwarves and even removing all the old green stuff from them as well and reworking everything. Cheers to everyone
A long awaited meaningful update to my blog, here is my completed Earthshaker Cannon/DreadQuake Mortar. As far as the crew themselves, theyre not done. I’ve finally changed the scheme to a color I want, and it turns out I don’t have orange or yellow or purple. So enjoy!
