That’s a nice take on the Taurus, of course the Balrog wings fit perfectly (I trimmed them down a little on mine though as they are very big) and the Minotaur head looks very good on it, too.
But what’s that - your Taurus is ridden by a HUMAN?! :o
Tjub: thanks! honestly I hadn’t read the fluff that hobgobbos were taller than Cd’s until after I had a whole bunch of them already, but I’ve always really liked gnoblar models anyway.
Ishkur: Uhhh no, thats no human… just a dwarf…a tall dwarf.:~
Aren't the balrog wings too large for the great taurus? I ask it, because I'm planning to use them as well.
I, too use the gnoblars as hobgoblins. They are cool. Nice army.
chipie_ambrosia
Thanks!
well, I think the balrog wings look great! they give the model a greater presence and he looks much more intimidating than having him with just the small wings. plus the base that I have him on raises him up a bit so his wings don't interfere with other models to his flanks.
did you check out my hobgobbo archers? I used nightgoblin bow arms.
so here is my helmed lammasu conversion wip. Im not a fan of the original lammasu and I wanted to give it a marauder style twist since that’s how my army is. It is made of a winged nightmare body, dark pegasus wings a chaos space marine terminator head, and a defiler helmet. I think the model is a good representation of the lammasu. not overly scary like a manticore model (that only gets 2 attacks). I also feel like the thin body type gives it a magical feel. I haven’t glued anything yet but give me your thoughts.
Not really how I imagine the Lammasu, but a cool conversion none the less. It works great IMO! Cant remember to have seen anyone else use that head either, is it from that 40k chaos deamon crab thing?
Awesome idea - and it has a certain Old School feel to it - I like it. Quite similar to my own idea about sorcerer with lammasu - different beast - but the same sorcerer on foot.
thanks a lot guys I’ve actually done a bit more painting in my army so I really should post some updated pictures. I’ve also done a lot of work on the bazuka team blunderbuss unit. I’m actually planning on building another unit of them. as far as gnobars go Ive always really liked the models and just finished cleaning and converting a unit of 20 sneaky gits. they’ve only been primed now but will hopefully get some paint soon.
Nice looking lammasu, you will have to keep us updated on your progress. Is there anyway we could get some better pics of your Taurus? I really like what you have done there.
That will be a cool looking lammasu - I like the old one, but that’s personal taste - the pose is dynamic and the choice of bits is effective at achieving what you want. Have you considered giving the model a beard?
Border reaver: the lammasu might get a mock beard. maybe in the form of tentacles hanging down or collar of khorne style…
here are some pictures for brain sorry about the wait, I just dont get around to posting pics very often… I actually didnt do the great taurus conversion I bought it already painted and converted on ebay. I am going to strip it and paint differently pretty soon though…
here is my bull centaur unit that I AM converting, it needs to be completed by valentines because I plan on bringing them to a tournament that day… the conversion was pretty simple I used bull centaur bodies, I used black orc arms and cut Black orc bodies at the waist and used chaos warrior heads, all of the bluestuff is completely temporary and all of them will get a proper beard.
here is the BC Hero, I finally put some paint on it
