well the tournament is over now and had more than 100 players. I didnt place very well mostly because of my lack of paint on my BCs and characters, but I did much better than I did last year. I got 2 wins 2 losses and a draw. My wins were against good dwarfs:) (I forgot that good dwarfs hate greenskins so I should have been charging with my hobgobbos to pull him out of position but I completely forgot about that strategy until after the game.) and a WoC army (I nearly lost this one when my Black orcs and a unit of 25 CDs and my 15 blunderbuss decided to flee from panic on the last turn of the game.) my loses were against an ogre army (I thought I had this one but my dice were against me. it was still a really close game.) and the other lose was against skaven, all time low point in warhammer history happened right here. first turn first spell in the game he irresistibly casts some spell that causes a panic test if a model is wounded, my bull centaur lord general, scroll caddy, 25 Chaos dwarfs with command and a bolt thrower all fled of the table. more than 600 points gone to the first spell of the first turn of the game. the draw was against high elfs and I dont remember much about this game because I got really drunk (this tournament had several kegs and all you can drink.)

You got one of the most brutal looking bullcentaurs units iv’e seen! Really good job on the spearthrowers, it would look even nicer with some rivets on the metal parts. Good work!
thank you blackheart. if I would have had more time I would’ve added rivets before painting them. well, they’re only painted black, I guess Ill still add the rivets, they do add a lot the model.
I need to add some updated pics of the bullcentaurs since they all have paint on them now, not much, but they have black, metal and brown on them, and a really cool standard IMO.
Here is a little update, Im preparing for another tournament coming up this weekend. so I’m trying my hand at lava bases. I also converted a BSB using baggroner’s Overlord as the base.
Excellent update… the minimalist approach to your conversion work on the Overload is ace!! I think it looks fantastic with just what you’ve done. Great stuff, can’t wait to see more
Thanks guys! Tjub: umm no progress on the BC Lord, I tried to use it in play testing and it just doesn’t work well in 8th with the “footprints” rule. He can’t push his way through the battle line unless he’s in a BC or HGWR unit. because of this I havent done anything at all to it. also the TLOS rule discourages me even more, being a super big target.
The Hand has been pinned all the way to the standard and doesnt have much play at all, so Im not very worried about it. I wanted the standard to be over his own base but hes too big, Ive already positioned him as far right on the base as I’d like. The horns on the other hand I am a bit worried about. they are not pinned just glued and then green stuffed.
Looks absolutely excellent, but one thing I would recommend is to remove the right hand “arm” from the symbol on the banner to make it the Rune of Hashut, instead of Khorne.
I painted him up already but I can’t upload a pic for a few days I got a 2 hour drive to the Grand tournament and Im going to leave soon. oh and I already cut of the right side for the rune Of hashut… Im having mixed feelings on it though.

Hey guys, so here are the painted pics of BSB and an update for the hobgoblin hero I converted a while ago.
I think I cut off the wrong side of the hashut Icon …
so the tournament was pretty good, unfortunately I got only 2 wins and 3 losses. 2 of the losses were extremely close. a beastmen player had a super nasty minotaur unit worth 400 points plus a minotaur lord in it for over 900 points in one unit. well I got the unit down to one minotaur and the lord, and then on the last turn I cast a 3D6 fireball on it and did 13 hits, 6 on the minotaur, hoping for the win. My dice wiffed and I only caused one wound, if it did 3 which it should have statistically, I would have won the game, instead I took a loss. The other game was capture the hill scenario against ogres. I parked 100 hobgoblins on it and then over an extremely bloody battle only 5 ogres stood on the hill. up until turn 5 I thought I had won and then 6th turn the cd unit on it got to combat and was broken by iron guts, a tyrant and a bruiser.
Looks absoltuely awesome It is on the wrong side, but it’s not a problem: to those behind it’s the correct way, which is better if you think about it because he’s in front of the rest of the army, lol.

thanks guys! the next day after I cut it I realized it was the wrong side but I have been in denial ;P. I saved the bit so I’m going to put it back on and snip the other one eventually. I remember when I was about to cut it I said to myself “sure would look good on the otherside, oh well, this is the side to cut.” I even drew it down correctly and Im not sure how I messed it up. The Tournament was a lot of fun except for one guy that played extremely slow :s. we were the last guys to finish a round and we only finished turn 3. his slowness almost cost me the win, but I got it anyway;).
