BC Lord Conversion Thread
I also finished magnetizing the wolf riders… well not completely, the metal wolf’s backs are too thin and a bit difficult to work with so I think I’ll have to paint up another dire wolf and replace the metal ones.

Ive been working on my Black Orc unit and converted more bull centaurs and Included command. Im also using an impact bull centaur as my Bsb. I havent gotten any paint on them yet but I did magnetize them all.
the other day I contacted a head judge of a tournament I go to every year and he told me to give him some time to check over the indy GT dwarfs of chaos book, but he’ll probably allow it! the tournament is at the end of may. so Im pretty psyched about that. now I finally have some incentive to work on some cd models that never got much love from me. yesterday I pulled out my old tenderizer and whirlwind and soaked them in acetone so I can get off all that old crappy paint job, I got them maybe 2 years ago and theyve never been on the battlefield. I also got the gears working on the whirlwind so my deamoneaters will be functional, muhahaha. tonight Ill get the tenderizer working. yesterday I also pulled out my hellcannon and started cleaning to it up. this model is a total pain, too many pieces and too many mold lines. I also want to bring a unit of inferno golems so Im going to have to build those up. I already have 2 ork nobz in mega armor already cleaned and now I need a third one, possibly forth. I would also like to get the volgar model by dwarf tales to be my deamonsmith… oh and If I had more time I really wanted to convert up a unit of chaos dwarfs with spears, Ive been think of a really cool conversion for them but I never even started it because none of the tournament s around here ever allow the indy Gt book.
well thats about it for now, Ill try to get some pics of my progress up as soon as I can.

ok time for an update, pics will be up soon. The tournament is going to be on sunday and It is confirmed that the indy GT list will be valid. both my whirlwind and tenderiser are painted (nice but fairly basic) and working. the hellcannon is almost completely painted, the orange skulls in the middle are a bit bright and I dont feel like it matches my army well, but since it looks pretty nice Im going to leave it like that. I never ended up buying the volgar model, instead I decided to get the AoW dragonbane and dwarf lord miniatures and 2 of baggroners character models, unfortunately I ordered them about a week ago and I wont be getting them in time. Im going to use the AoW dwarf lord of chaos model to represent one of the deamonsmiths and a marauder model to represent the other. my inferno golems unfortunately are not finished so they wont be in my army and Im pretty bummed about that, instead I put my great Taurus back in to fill up the points. my dad was bugging me about my great Taurus and saying it was an eyesore, too bright, so I put a wash over it and darkened the whole thing, I would like to strip it eventually and repaint it since I received it painted and never bothered repainting it. I also painting different shades of brown on my hobgobbo archers but my girlfriend doesnt like how they came out, Ill let you guys decide.
I would of had some pics for you guys tonight but I left my models at my sisters place, I never usually do that and now I regret it.
Tomorrow Ill be painting the whole day so I should be getting a lot progress done.

so just got played the tournament yesterday, I lost twice and got a tie on my third game. I used the indy gt rules. my first game was against an all cav and a dragon WoC list. it was actually a really good game. I broke his dragon with my Great Taurus and failed to catch him and then it rallied and I charged it to try and finish its last wounds, we wiffed and the dragon killed my Great Taurus and then my lord got ran down. my hellcannon charged a unit of knights but couldnt get through their armour and then eventually it got destroyed.
2nd game was against another WoC army but totally different. it had a manticore, dragon ogres, ogres, giant, tzeentch hero on disc one unit of warriors, 2 units of marauders with spears and hellcannon. this game was really bloody and at the end of 6 turns I had my Great Taurus and lord the big block of warriors, the unit of archers and one unit wolf riders. he had a giant, the manticore, and lord, hellcannon, 2 ogres. another really good game but we lost in the end.
3rd game was against an O&G army, 2 units of night gobbos, 1 savage orc unit 1 unit of black orcs level 4 sorc levl 2 sorc, black orc hero and savage orc hero one 2 units of wolf riders, 4 bolt throwers, squig hoppers and a giant. another good game. I really played up the annihilators with bait and flee tactics. my Great Taurus and lord killed the giant. he had a really good spell that was cast irresistable on turn 1 that continued to affect about 6 units doing D6 S6 hits to each one. destroyed both my deamoneaters on turn 1!

Loving the fully painted table ready army. The BC Lord will look awesome in it. By the way what is the size of the BC Lord versus your Taurus?

ronshank: heh, no not 5th… I was the only Chaos dwarf player at this tournament and I took 26th of 40. My BC Lord is a lot larger than my Great Taurus since they both use the same Lower body, the Head of my Great Taurus is at about crotch level of the BC Lord :P.
I need to start working on my army for the next tournament, The Quake City Rumble, which is much closer than I thought, June 12 is the first day of the GT. Unfortunately I Need to have 9 bull centaurs completed with command and sculpted beards and they need a lot of work. I also need to finish converting a BC BSB and then paint all of them including the BC Lord. I really thought that I had a month between these 2 tournaments, so there is even more on my plate, I was supposed to paint a unit of 15 black orcs as well, they are already converted and primed but I will probably use my cousins black orcs since I dont have much time. his are already painted. I have already turned in my army list so I cant change it unless I want to take a comp hit against me for switching lists so close to the date.

lol I can see the Taurus looking up at the bull centuars …well cough and thinking I can take him out. The Taurus of yours has that mangy i’ll kill everything look about him. The BC Lord looks like he’d swat him like a fly though. He almost looks chosen by Hashut personally

hey guys I finally got a bunch of pics for this update. so first, here are some pics of my newly painted hellcannon, deamoneaters and AoW Dwarf Lord of Chaos. I painted these for the tournament last weekend.

Thanks! its pretty incomplete but its gotta be done by next saturday. yup thats the marauder bolt thrower. I own 3 of them. but Im going to use 6 bolt throwers:mad In a tournament next weekend thats why Im working on the plastic ones.

Great work on every thing, really like the metal on the hell cannon looks great, how did you get that effect ? the Bullcentaur Lord is epic, you cant miss him on the battle field

you know loki, all I did for metal on the hellcannon is spray paint it flat black before assembly and then drybrush dwarf bronze all over the whole thing, thats it.
I have another update for my bolt throwers. I added a bunch of greenstuff to cover all of the seams and I also added gears or “bolts” under the bow and on the center hub. today Im going to add chains and hopefully some spikes.

This army is top notch! I love your ‘sprue throwers’ especially. Are those the bits from the BfSP pony cart I spy? Also a big fan of the bull centaur lord. It’s great use of the new minotour torso. I may try something similar to this with Archaon’s steed for my Doombull…

yeah those are bits from the grudge pony, Heres the tutorial for the Bolt Throwers. I put extra supports on mine to copy another member on this forum, Im not sure who it was though, and for extra structural support.
If you end up doing that doombull conversion send me a link Id really like to check that out.

unfortunately my camera broke and I sent it off to get repairs. it especially sucks because I started sculpting beards yesterday and I was hoping to get some suggestions from you guys. well I still took some pics with my cell phone camera so here are the pics.
