[Archive] Dawi of the Black Fortress & AoS Warband

gIL^:

I may end up just going with plaguemonks. I just wanted to try something different.

The current goblins are the worst models ever  i wouldnt touch them.

Admiral:

Lovely Chaos Dwarf pirates. Just lovely. Well done!

gIL^:

Hello all, i would say i made progress but at the same time it feels i havn’t the endless need to paint rank and file.

40 Infernal Guard ready for battle. I think the shine works. Gives them an almost Ambient lighting effect.

I always messed around with a battle standard bearer, I may end up putting a mask or helmet on him at some time as i always take a mask of the furnace on a bsb. Just wouldn’t be WYSIWYG :hat off

WIP Castellen BSB.

I little extra, My Fiance made me a dice bag, Ive had it almost a year but im going to show it off

Black and red is the theme

Thanks for Reading my blog honest opinions are most certainly welcome.

Abecedar:

The unit looks great, a touch of gloss on some parts can bring them to life.

The IG are something that I’ve stopped trying to build, my fat fingers and the multi-parts have defeated me so far.

gIL^:

You can make them quite characterful, One of the main criticisms are there static pose. But their dwarfs what more do we want

Bloodbeard:

I really like their armor gIL^. That black shining stuff looks great. Reminds me of Daedric armor in The Elder Scrolls.

The BSB is good, a fine conversion indeed. The bulls head on top of the banner makes it stand out.

TheHoodedMan:

A very nice regiment and also dice bag :cheers.

I used the IG champion for my battle standard, too. Its a great model with a very characterful face. Therefore Id recommend not to greenstuff the face.

The banner you built on him is a very good choice.

Ben Saunders:

Nice dice bag indeed, though you should ask your girlfriend for a red and black one next.

Parish:

Haha nice sock full of dice

Impressive unit !!

Keep up the good work

Ben Saunders
The top and interior is red :hat off

Scar:

Nice work on those infernals!

torn:

I like the colours on the infernal guard. They remind me a little bit of a 60’s batmobile.

I have to say im a bit jealous of the dice bag.

Roark:

Oh my god… Those Internals are awesome. Love the enameled armour and shield runes.

Im thinking of having a bound daemon trying to reach out of the banner like a portal perhaps, not sure it may make it alittle vulgar as I'm trying keep things simple. I have major ocd. :idea

gIL^:

Hey i need some advice

Work clearly in progress some guys i havnt even started on.

Pirates! But do you think Nurgle Pirates or just Vanilla? This would be mainly paint scheme and unit filler, :hat off

sam585:

Keep them vanilla chaos dwarf pirates imo.

Abecedar:

Vanilla pirates. But I just don’t like nurgle.

Malorndk:

vanilla!!!

This message was automatically appended because it was too short.

gIL^:

Ok that’s decided thanks

Bloodbeard:

I’m also all for the vanilla pirates! Hashut will burn any nurgles rot showing on the Dawi Zharr.

I think you should do a bit of work on the pickaxes - because they look just like that. Perhaps cut off the one side and add only a small spike or a hammerhead of axehead. Perhaps use some extra pickaxe spikes to make a guy fight with large anchors or grapling hooks.

Working on and pillageing from some huge Dawi Zharr pirate ship, there tools could look like it. It would be easy conversions to do and the misfit band of pirates would be even more unique.
