[Archive] Deck canons

Kera foehunter:

im looking for some ideas to use as a deck canon
this is what im going to use a my earth shaker
im not looking to make something big
just something bigger than a dwarf size canon

Willmark:

Best bet would be the old third edition swivel guns but unfortunately its eBay for that.

Kera foehunter:

well i think i can find a picture to try to copy from in green stuff

Ghrask Dragh:

The swivel guns are the the ones I’m using for unit fillers with the tree behind them.

Zanko:

What´s about these Flame Cannons?

Look cool, but I don´t know if they are too huge for your matter?

Kera foehunter:

i also thought of this, but i like to make something a bit cooler

Zanko:

What´s about this one?

It looks a bit more like a ship canon …

                                        :hashut

Kera foehunter:

that would be cool but maybe mount it on a beast or a pony cart

Zanko:

Kera foehunter
You mean this canon should be mounted on a pony cart and then use it as a normal canon (?) or a pony cart mounted with this canon on your ship is a cool thing???

I´m puzzled !!! :o

Kera foehunter:

need wheels if i battle with it on land!! or beast to move it.

or maybe a troll!!Tthere not may people around that have ships to battle to this scale

Zanko:

I would like to fight a real sea battle against you, but … I fear we cannot come together :frowning:

two_heads_talking:

without the cannon having wheels, it would and could sink a boat or rip the cannon right off the deck. Most ship cannons had wheels that were very heavy and very hard to turn. when the cannon was fired, the recoil would slam the cannon back into a block stop. the wheels, would allow the cannon to again be returned to firing position after being reloaded. Where it once again would ‘fly’ back to be reloaded.

without this, it could, with enough cannons goiing off, flip the boat. Especially the boats that were built for shallow waters.

Zanko:

This canon is designed as a “real” pirate canon :cheers

Kera foehunter:

i love the big Bertha cannon but i love the bottoms ones oohhhh brass barrows

Swissdictator:

During the American Civil War, there were a lot of Mortar Rafts used on the Mississippi River.

If you’re going with a pirate them you could have a cool display board.

A few ships with units on it… then a mortar raft or rafts with your warmachines on it.

Kera foehunter:

i love you swiss!! that is awsome!!! slaves!!!

Zanko:

What about this mortar?!?!
