(I don’t work for the war store, btw-- they’re just the first site I recognized on the search )
Well? go! hey! Are you still reading this?!?!!?
I had my entire Bale Taurus and Drazhoath assembled within an hour. A lot of the individual pieces were fairly awkward and/or heavy, and I know that if I had used normal super glue it would have taken 2 to 4 times as long and I most likely would have broken pieces and had other pieces fall off repeatedly. Someone turned me onto this stuff a few weeks ago and I have used it non stop. You put the glue on one side, the accelerator on the other, and 1 second after you touch them together, you have a rock-hard bond that won’t break. The only thing you have to look out for is getting the glue and the accelerator both on your hand, because you’ll end up with a claw for a hand… :D
#2- Green stuff the head/neck area before adding the slaves and extra armour panels.
I was in a hurry to put it together, so I didn’t think that part out. It’s been a pain to reach in there and take care of that after the fact. That was the only joint that was really bad, and it was TERRIBLE. You need a lot of green stuff for that portion.
I just finished all the green stuff/magnetization/basing, so I’ll try to put up a pic when I get home tonight to show what I came up with. :hat off
I magnetized the rider; he is mounted on essentially a saddle, which you would normally glue to the throne on top of the taurus. I just magnetized those two. it MAY work on a lammasu, I can check that when I get home. I have the Raging Heroes Lammasu as well as the GW one, so I can check both and post pics. I have class tonight, so I wont be able to post any pics for about 6 hours or so…
A little recommendation to improve an already ecstatically great idea - add leather straps to the lammasu to give it a little bit of a better look (when Drazoath isn’t on it, it’s a harness!).
Ryan, I don’t suppose you could be my favourite person ever, and give a scale shot between your lamassu and the Bale taurus?
I’m debating a conversion using the Raging heroes head on the Bale Taurus body for my lamassu - was wondering if the scale is close enough to look good.
Thanks for the nice clear photos. Looks easy enough to remove those daft dangling caged things from him.
They’re the part of the miniature I’m least keen on, I also didn’t see them mentioned in the bestiary under his fluff (although have only gone through the book once so far). The only thing that links to them is the lack of sorcerer’s curse in his rules?

Removing them isnt a very good idea since they are an important part of the model and the fluff behind it:
I’m going to pin the legs, the wings, all the wing blades, the tail. Just for starters.
I am considering entering this in golden daemon, but even if I don’t I want to make it the best painted model I’ve ever done (as befitting a sorcerer of his importance) I need to give a great deal of thought to the base.

Unfortunately Drazhoath *does* have the sorcerer's curse rule. He is listed as having the Daemonsmith special rule and the description of the daemonsmith special rule states they also have the Infernal Engineer and Sorcerer's Curse special rule.
Unless it is elsewhere in the book that I've not read yet there is no written fluff or rules reason for them to be there, just the words of the sculptor who thought it up.

Still a cool idea though :)

In the army list section, the special rules for the Lord and Hero sorcerer both have Sorcerer's Curse under their special rules (in addition to Daemonsmith), however Drazhoath the Ashen only has Daemonsmith and no Sorcerer's Curse listed.
I don't have the book with me (at work) so can't check the bestiary to see if it is listed as a sub rule under Daemonsmith. Either way, a email to FW might clarify this.
I also understand why they are on the sculpt and the orginal idea thrown out while in pre-production, but there is no mention that I can see in the book. Anyway, at least they are easily left off, good to know thanks :)
