Some of mine favorit films are three germans ones; Untergard, Stalingrad and Das Boot. All very good. Also nice to see not from americans view but from the other side. Then ofc you have all does other movies that you mention Swissdictator, alos very good ones. So its a big pick
That’s a difficult question. I really can’t point out just one movie. But the ones I regulary see are Patton, A bridge to Far, Tora Tora Tora, Sink the Bismark & Band of Brothers . Ok the last one ain’t exactly a movie, but it’s a terrific series.
Yes. About Stalingrad. Very very good movie. So good CoD plagiarised them.
Too hard to pick for me, I'm a bit of a history buff and all. I've seen most movies mentioned but some only once or twice at best and a very long time ago so don't remember them much.
I guess I'd have to go with "Tuntematon Sotilas".
Nazhur, do you mean "Der Untergang" ? Untergard seems to be a city in the Empire during Storm of Chaos. AFAGoogleK.
Lol, snowblizz, you are right. I meent Der Untergang, in swedish it was called Undergången, that´s why with the wrong name. Or I just read to much about warhameer
Hands down Bridge to far, not only my favorite ww2 but my second favorite film of all time, the first being Zulu
Loki
Zulu was awesome!!!
Otherwise, concerning WWII films...
I love 'a bridge too far', 'the battle for brittain', 'where eagles dare', 'the eagle has landed', 'la grande vadrouille' and ofcourse... 'Inglorious Bastards' :cheers
I have always enjoyed The Guns of Navarone. Kelley?Ts Heroes is awesome as well. Patton and Night of the Generals are among my favorites too. For non WWII films Zulu and Cromwell would have to be at the top of my list.
I did enjoy Letters from Iwo Jima more than I did Flags of our Fathers. When I saw them in theatres I saw Letters first, then Flags at a place showing older movies at a discount. Seeing them back to back was quite nice as it connected a lot of things between the two and it really helped the experience.
Zulu and Kelly’s Heroes are in my top 5 favourite films of all time.
Saving Private Ryan is also up there for WW2 films. I actually like the longest day as well (if it’s the one I think it is). Enemy at the gates is a really good film as well.
Not WW2, but We Were Soldiers is also in my top 10.
Probably the only studio ghibli i havent seen. It looks too different from their other films so i dont think i would enjoy it.
It is very, very different, and not really meant to be enjoyed.
Baggronor
I didn't like it at all. I had no sympathy for the main character, especially after what he let happen to his sister due to his pride/stubborness/stupidity.
Best move maybe Tali-Ihantala(http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0378848/), Zvezda(http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0326450/) or Stalingrad, dont know if Band of Brothers or Shtrafbat(http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0425715/) would count both great miniseries...
tjub
Those movies sound really cool! Is it possible to find them in english language? Or at least with subtitles.....
