zhatan87:

Pretty sad that they didn´t fix that Hellbound add extra wounds in-game, not just on profile. Sad
It's not really well written, but pretty clear in the intention to be played : 7 wounds, one additionnal wound...

KramDratta:

They did. They specifically said

When it loses wounds, you choose where the wounds are lost from;
So its up to you to allocate the wounds.

zhatan87:

Does anyone have seen the (discreet and not in red) change of the burning bright rule? Very surprising that they want to go back…

BABIS:

I changed the browser and I was able to view the new FAQ ^^

zhatan87

@OP: Updated list of questions following latest FAQ update

Answered

Dreadquake Mortar
In what order are wounds removed from a Dreadquake Mortar with the Slave Ogre and/or Hellbound upgrades? The current assumption is that Hellbound is removed first, followed by individual Chaos Dwarf wound markers and the slave Ogre last (due to the rule of whole models being removed where possible and the machine not being able to be fired by the Hellbound rule with no crew).
With the changes to the Hellcannons points and rules in the new Warriors of Chaos book should we use the points cost, profile and rules found there?
Deathshrieker
Is a hit of the Demolition Rocket of the Deathshrieker on a mounted monster distributed like a template/cannon hit? (meaning both parts, rider and mount get hit)
If a Deathshrieker Rocket does scatter from its original target and homes towards the closest unit, does it move towards the centre or the closest part/corner of that unit?
Giant Wolf
Does the Giant Wolf confer the ?oFast Cavalry?-Special Rule upon the Hobgoblin Khan, as indicated in the Orc and Goblin Armybook?
What kind of shooting penalties need to be applied on a Steam Cannonade shot after movement?
Flames of Azgorh
If a character within a unit is under the hole of the template of the Flames of Azgorh does it have to take two ?oLook Out, Sir!?-rolls? One for the hit at Strength 6 and one for the Toughness test? Or is it a single one for both?
Answered via email but not included in FAQ

Great Taurus
Does the Great Taurus still follow the ?oFlaming Body?-rules as per Storm of Magic which was similar to the original version of the rule in Tamurkhan or should it be included in the updated rule from the FAQ? If it follows the rules as per Storm of Magic, may it also take the options like the Lammasu?

Not Answered

1. Hellcannon
Does the Hellcannon enable a Daemonsmith to take his special ?oInfernal Engineer?-?oLook Out, Sir!?-Roll while within 3??

2. Bull Centaurs and Spears
Do Bull Centaurs with spears fight in an additional rank (as implied in the rulebook) or are they supposed to get the Strength bonus when charging like cavalry?

3. Steam Cannonade
May the Iron Daemon fire its Steam Cannonade after it engaged the boiler?

4. Black Hammer of Hashut
When a character with the Black Hammer of Hashut wounds a flammable multi-wound unit such as Treekin, how many wounds are inflicted for combat result? Does one treekin die for every wound dealt?

5. Ashstorm
Does a unit under the effect of Ashstorm treat open terrain as dangerous terrain?

Da Crusha:

@kramdratta: I would have been really interested in seeing about the BC spears above the other ones. I think it would really make the spears a viable option (not to mention an easy conversion.)

Da Crusha
Trust me I'm with you on that. :)

How does the being Fast cav for the Hobgoblin Khan really help this much?

Sherlocko:

They did. They specifically said

KramDratta
Ah, missed that bit. It´s still up for debate though since the rulebook tells us to ignore the wound profile for war machines...

Singleton Mosby
Our best re-director just got the Vanguard special rule.....it is really helpful. :)

KramDratta:

@Singleton Mosby: Now when (or should that be if) a Khan rallies after fleeing from a charge, it can move normally. That’s a major boost.

@Sherlocko: Army book beats Rulebook. If armybook (or in this case FAQ of army book) has a “rule”, this overrides the rulebook. If this were not the case, Flames Of Azgroh could be cast without line of sight requirements since it is direct damage

KramDratta
Problem here is that there is no real conflict army book versus rulebook. Army Book tell us that we gain more wounds and can allocate them as we like. Rulebook tell us that war machines are destroyed when crews are. You can allocate wounds all you like, it has nothing to do with when it gets destroyed.

FAQ
The ogre adds 3 additional wounds to the Dreadquake?Ts profile. When it loses wounds, you choose where the wounds are lost from; so if the unit suffers three wounds from enemy shooting you could remove the Ogre, or three Chaos Dwarfs.
Being Hellbound again simply adds a wound to the profile; so for example a Dreadquake Mortar that is Hellbound and has an Ogre crewman has a total of seven Wounds.
Rulebook Pg 108
Once all the crew have been removed, the war machine itself is removed from play.
I think I am not understanding something here (apologies English is not my first language). Remember that the rulebook is assuming 1 crew = 1 Wound. We're have a crew with 3 Wounds. Let's take the DreadQuake with Ogre & Hellbound as an example = 7 Wounds.

Warmachine suffers a Wound. Rulebook states that a crew is removed. FAQ states controlling layer chooses where to allocate the wound. Normally you'd start with the Hellbound as this does not affect you, but you chould have easily chosen a Chaos Dwarf crew. Warmachine now has 6 Wounds left.

Another example:
Warmachine is hit by a cannonball & suffers 3 Wounds for the D6 roll. Now you could assign 2 Wounds to the Ogre and one to the Hellbound. Warmachine has 4 Wounds left, but it can still operate normally.

Yet another example:
Warmachine is hit by a cannonball (notice how much I hate cannons) & suffers 5 Wounds for the D6 roll. Now it gets interesting. You could allocate 1 Wound to the Hellbound, 2 Wounds to the Ogre & 3 Wounds amongst the Chaos Dwarfs. The Warmachine will have 1 Wound left but it can fire normally the next turn.

The hob gets feigned flight which lets it move as normal after it flees and rallies so the ability to redirect and position itself to redirect again the very next turn is pretty awesome (with move 9 :D). ohh + vangaurd could be helpful some games (especially when its free y not?)

You're absolultely right. I forgot about the Feigned Flight and thought having vanguard is only a little boost. This, however is a very nice boost indeed.

NoisyAssassin:

Vanguard is a huge boost if you plan on using them to hunt warmachines.

rpitts2004:

Chalice is officially broken. Time to make people cry

Karring:

I am glad to see that Hellcannon price upload from Warriors of Chaos Army Book has been applied also in Tamurkhan. And, at last, wounds topic in the warmachines is clarified…

Thank you so much, boys.

minionboy:

So how big would an unmounted Magma Cannon be? There isn’t an older version of that model to go with. :-/
