[Archive] Games Day miniature 2010 - revealed

clam:

The 2010 special Games Day miniature was revealed today in GWs ‘Incoming’ newsletter.

A rather nice Sorcerer - and definitely a most have for me:

Kawazu:

Was about to post it.

I think it’s awesome!

tjub:

Oh, thats a nice one!

Willmark:

Yeah I got my email about it and I saw Chaos and Sorceror real quick and got really excited for a moment because my mind was filling in the dwarf part

cornixt:

The paintjob looks a bit weird on that one, but the model looks okay. Is he part of a 4 piece set, when do we get M, C, and A?

Warhammerman:

The model looks okay. Not a fan of the arms thrown up though. But, I guess he’s praising the chaos gods or something.

nitroglysarine:

he, he…

he reminds me of David Groal from the Tenatious D music video 'Tribute’

Zanko:

Nice mini but nothing really stunning!

This model isn’t very imaginative nor is it a real new idea!

:hashut

Uzkul Werit:

Hmmmm.

I like. Looks alot more like the Sorcercers in the artwork.

Kera foehunter:

look more like a figure to put on the front of my ship to me !!

for a evil guy he has small hand and fingers! look more like mine

Warhammerman:

His hands are perfect for chaining to the wall in the dungeon of Zharr Naggrund me thinks.

Da Crusha:

wow I think this model is awesome!!!

snowblizz:

And a shot from the back as well.

So he’s really more of a X than a Y.

Loki:

Great looking model, have to say am surprised that they have done another warhammer one, as this years was the chaos warrior with two axes, was hoping for somthing a little different from chaos again

Pyro Stick:

Im not a fan of this model. It could just be the paint job thats putting me off but its definately a model that i wont be in a rush to get.

I must admit im in agreement here. Ive seen and painted far better from other firms and truth be told im looking at it thinking which part would I cut of first and thats never a good sign to me. I think id probably cut him in half over the skull take the front faceplate off, Chop off half his legs/skirt/robe replacing the chest plate and give him a big curly beard and filll up the back with a greenstuff cloak.

AGPO:

I really like the thinking behind this model - its far more how I imagined the sorcerers of the Northern tribes to look. The current range of sorcerer minis seem to me like fallen wizards from the south. THis guy feels like he was once a tribesman.

I totally agree. It's not only due to the painting (come on, they can do better) but also the sculpt itself is kinda awkward.

furthermore, why is it warhammer chaos again? They have three main systems with a total of 37 armies they could support. Since 2002 there were 4 chaos miniatures (mortal chaos, to be exact). It's getting kinda boring...

Ishkur Cinderhat:

I like him. Suitably chaotic and the face has a lot of character. The pose is not all too interesting, but it will make him stand out of the ranks of stoic chaos warriors, which is nice. Somehow I also have a feeling that they just wanted to give this old classic a reboot.

Damn i never realised that before. I would have thought they would have made a model for Skaven or something since they are a new release or for just a random army like Tomb Kings to try and revitalise some interest in them. Chaos seems to be turning into the Space Marines of Warhammer Fantasy. The problem im having with this model could just be that im subconciously bored with chaos limited editions.
