Admiral:
Asrai.
The old treeman and especially Treebeard lokos better than the new one, but I’m sure it’ll do the job.
That bird hero clampack is very nice.

Grimstonefire:
Wait, a treeman with a sword…?
Thommy H:
I like the visual link between Durthu and the Eldar Avatar. Looking forward to the rest of the releases as my wife plays Wood Elves.
Yodrin:
LF to this release. WE is a very cool army, and their models has allways looked good imo
Skink:
Wood Elves really needed a new armybook! The models look ok I guess (never been an Elf fan), although to me the best treeman still remains the old 5th ed metal one.
Billy Ocean:
I’m very excited about this. Wood elves are fantastic and iconic army, but have been sorely needing a power boost for a long time. I can’t wait to see the new models on the table, what I’ve seen so far is great.
thrawn:
I like these models, pretty excited. I might be one of the few who plays both chaos space dwarfs and wood elves.
Twisted Dwarf:
I will have woodies as my 3rd army. I wanted dark elves but everyone here plays them.
Bloodbeard:
Don’t like that treeman in the top. He doesn’t look anything like something from the woods. But the other stuff looks good.
Billy Ocean:
I like the regular treeman, without the sword. Painted a little more subtly I think he will look spot on. Can’t say too much from the blurry photo, but the hooded warriors look very promising. Almost looks like they are carrying some kind of axe or halberd rather than eternal guard spears? Maybe this will be the high strength ranked unit that WE need to be competitive?
snowblizz:
Wait, a treeman with a sword...?Yup, Wood Eldar. I'm coining the term now.
Grimstonefire
NoisyAssassin:
I really like the new Treeman (built without the sword of course). Still doesn’t hold a candle to the Ultraforge Treewoman though.
Skink:
…I just noticed one thing. Look at the first pic, behind the infantry unit. Look at the Glade Riders (they haven’t changed the models). Are those… green elven steeds???
Fuggit Khan:
Wait, a treeman with a sword...?Yeah, somehow that just defeats the purpose.
Grimstonefire
Billy Ocean:
Yeh dunno what they’re trying to achieve with the green horses - trying to make the whole WE army look like an integrated part of the forest ecosystem maybe?! Avatar style!
I saw a pic of the WD page with wood elf magic cards. They get all 8 lores plus high and dark. These guys are going to be powerful. A fringe army no more I think.
Thommy H:
Guys, you can’t chop down trees with a sword. If he had a big lumberjack’s axe, sure, but there’s no thematic contradiction with a sword…
Admiral:
In Sweden we talk of “woodheads” for stupid people. Perhaps the Treeman don’t know he can’t attack himself with that sword?
A treeman with a flamethrower, now that would be another matter entirely.
@Herby: You’re right. Green steeds. Weird. I guess they aren’t ripe just yet.
MadHatter:
Haha I pondered what you ment for a few seconds before "träskalle" came to mind :)

cornixt:
I think those horses just have green cloth over them, their legs and heads look brown.
Billy Ocean:
I think its the other way round - the bits of cloth/metal that glade rider horses have on their heads/legs are brown, whereas the horses themselves are indeed green :o.
Anyhoo, the GW studio are well known for their odd colorscheme choices, and I think thats the problem with some of the treeman pics too. When we see the regular (non-sword) version painted in normal woodland colors he’s probably going to blow us away. The strangleroot thing coming out of his hand in particular looks very cool. Great 3D sculpt IMO.
