Thommy H:
New Citadel paint range.
Check out the name of the fifth metallic paint down in the Layers category. Yup.
Slightly interesting, don’t you agree? I’m totally living up to that Best Contributor medal I just won.

Time of Madness:
I don’t understand why they are renaming all the paints. I’ve been using citadel paints for 15+ years and they have generally always kept the same/similar names.

vulcanologist:
Bloody hell Thommy! Is there anything that doesn’t get past you!?!
Bolg:
Those names!! thats all screwy, I need to buy a few pot of vomit brown a.s.a.p. or I cant base my dwarves anymore. Sorry but I just assume they change most of the tints as well, like the screwed over Gobin green in the past (and many others).
Just give me back that chest nut inc and i’m happy.
edit
But the metallic name is cool. (:

I Have heard all paints will remain but renamed and they will doubble their range. There will be a guide to the changes in the white dwarf.

Hashut copper! very nice find thommy.
my friend that owns my FLGS says the current paints will be discontinued because gw is switching paint manufacturers or something like that. so since the paints are being made somewhere new they will get new ingredients and wont be exactly the same.

I’m quite looking forward to seeing what the deal is with the Texture range, actually.
Abecedar:
well done finding this. It’s probably just gunna confuse me though and besides we haven’t got a local stockist (one within two hours drive that is) anymore.
warh:
Interesting, that’s all I have to say.
fattdex:
Naw, they still love us.
GRNDL:
re: paint name changes.
This doesn’t make sense to me at all. The co-relation of name and colour is tenuous at best and have been in use for a very long time. If they are just adding to the range, why not just use new (and vague) names for the new paints and leave the old alone.
I really wish GW would focus on what is wrong with their business than messing up things that aren’t.
@Thommy
Judging from the names in the range, I’m assuming they are just coloured flock rather than paints.
Bitterman:
The re-naming is for legal reasons. Using copyrighted/trademarked names like “Khorne” and “Hashut” means other companies can’t produce paints with the same names. The Army Painter produce a spray and paint called Ultramarine Blue for example, which just happens to be an (almost) exact match for Citadel’s Ultramarine Blue.
Hey, I didn’t say it was a good reason. Speaking for myself, I don’t buy paints from other companies because of the names, I buy them (from TAP, Vallejo, Cote d’Arms, P3…) because they have a larger range, you get more paint for less money, and they use proper stoppered bottles that don’t dry out if you leave them in a drawer for a week, unlike the godawful Citadel paint pots. Most of them flow better and have better consistency too.
Kera foehunter:
No, i don’t think this is worth a thread until there picture of the paint
So no soup for you Tommy H

Thommy H:
I can still look forward to that. I don’t have time to mess around mixing sand and paint together. Life is too short.

Is there any chance of someone duplicating the list on here?(I can’t access this link from work).
Are Tin Bitz and Boltgun being replaced?
I guess I’ll be needing to stock up I’m almost out of Tin Bitz anyway and I don’t want to be forced to change colour halfway through an army.

This doesn’t make sense to me at all. I’m not a big business type of guy, but I know enough about branding to know you shouldn’t go changing names etc when you have 20+ year old product. Some of these paint names have been around for 20+ years.
Imagine if a company like Mcdonald’s decided to change the name of the Big Mac…
They’ve worked hard to establish a brand (ie paints/paint names) and now they will be throwing it all away.
