Dire wolves are done! Took me quite a while. But now I’m happy with the result.
I made the regimental bases to go with the typical arrow formation used for 5 of these, but by using a little themed scenery to fill the missing spots I inadvertedly built them in a way that I could even use them as one 12-strong regiment… If ever I should wish such a nonsense, that is. 
Now, this is what all my 1k Vampire Counts (plus some extra characters) look like together:

Now that the core of my vampire counts army is done I think I can go with some nice big nasties next… a vargheist and crypt horrors probably? But I think I’ll take up work on my black templars or grey knights again first, there are still some units there that need some paint pot lovin’ and I need a break from dulled browns, greens and greys.

Building the core of an army always seems to be the hardest part; I really look forward to some nice monstery things now - or some neat killy elite unit next?

Ahem dusts off this ye olde thread time for a little update!
Crypt Ghouls! Hated painting them, all the shading and highlighting seemed to take no end at all for some time. But now at last they’re done, more core and one step towards a much bigger army - next on my wish list: big, killy thingies! ^^
