Xander:
I love your painting style, Ishkur. It’s so clean and nice. I want to attend a painting workshop taught by you.
What’s your recipe for the grey rocks?
Ishkur Cinderhat:
Wow thanks! But seeing how slow and long my painting sessions tend to be, I think that would be a rather tedious event!
My recipe for the rock colour: chaos black basecoat, drybrushed with a mix of vallejo light grey, then lighter mixes of light grey and vallejo sky grey, finished off with some very light strokes of skull white. I dust on some olive weathering powder here and there for a little extra colour.

Here is what I have been up to around the weekend.
My Cairn Wraith - the green witch fire I paint for some bling in my army does not seem to look really ethereal, so I’ll probably try something else with the Banshees on the Mortis Engine once I get these…
Right now I’m working on a small unit of zombies, not overly enthusiastic about the models since they are sooo bad and sooo old but as a fledgling necromancer you just have to have some around I guess.
Xander:
Nicely done. That’s a pretty neat model.
Yodrin:
Thats a cool model indeed, and a very nice color and paint job!!
Kera foehunter:
very nice !!
This message was automatically appended because it was too short.
NoisyAssassin:
LOVE the Cairn Wraith. The witchfire looks much better than the traditional ethereal look.
veso:
Jaw dropped!
You make the new GW mediocre (IMO) grave guard look absolutely amazing!!! Entire army is awesome, want to see more!
Borador:
Lovely work Ishkur, keep them coming!
Abecedar:
truly nice work, thanks for sharing
Ishkur Cinderhat:
Braaiiiiinns…!
I really wasn’t too enthusiastic about painting these, but it had to be done. I feel they are some of the worst models currently in the GW range, the ridiculous hairstyles, the metres-wide hands, the casual-style clothing… but they are kinda necessary in a VC army and I had the models lying around anyway.
It was a bit difficult to paint them with differently coloured clothes so that they are not too uniform and still stick to the overall appearance of the army. But I guess they turned out OK, what do you guys think?
Now I look forward much more to painting the dire wolves and corpse cart still missing in my 1000 pts list!
WilsonUndead:
The painting on the entire army is awesome, I’m jealous of your skillz (with a Z). I don’t like the zombie models either, did you consider mantics zombies? I dabbled in a VC army awhile ago, bought 120 mantic zombies, really cheap. If you haven’t already, you should check them out
Yodrin:
And thats what I call nice!!
Kera foehunter:
you made gw worst figures into a master piece
they look great Ish
Skink:
Yeah, they are old models, but your unit looks great none the less.
Ishkur Cinderhat:
So this is what I have been painting last week. Pretty much every evening of last week, that is.
Xander:
Stunning! Nice work Ish!
Skink:
Sweet! The green eldritch flame works great!
Kera foehunter:
Woooooooooooooooooooooooooow !!! i give you a 9.9
