[Archive] IT?TS HERE! The Indy GT Dwarfs of Chaos Army Book

dragonslayer:

Grimstonefire:

This book is 100% unofficial, so it would require opponents consent and will (probably) not be allowed in smaller tournies without express permission from the organisers.  Ravening Hordes is flawed, but it is ‘official’.

It’s a grey area really on balancing what is ‘official’ against what is more fun for you.

If anyone is using this in friendly games outside of the tournies it was made for I suggest you direct your gaming buddies to download it first. The same with any of our other fan made lists.

If you meant are the rules the same as GW rules (i.e. Killing blow = killing blow from rulebook), then yes it will work with the 7th ed rulebook.

Scion:

Awesome book. I like the presentation.

Uzkul Werit:

Sir! Sir! I have questions!

One!

Where would I put the Taskmaster in a Rabble unit - at the front like a Champion or the back like a Packmaster?

Two!

Do the close combat attacks or range attacks of an Eruption Gun/Death Rocket/Earthshaker count as magical?

KevinC:

Hi guys, thank you for all the comments!

Uzkul Werit
--------1. He is placed in the front, counting as a normal unit champion.

--------2. They are not magical attacks.

Thanks,

Kevin out

KevinC:

I didn't write anything in the book, although the credit I receive on the back page is actually for this idea, so you can blame me.
----------Actually, I got the idea from Gav Thorpe's Grudgebearer novel.

Cheers,

Kevin out

Dhoom:

This book is great. I have already built a several very different and interesting armies using the new rules.

I do have two questions and sorry if they’ve been answered already.

1. What strength are the annihilator crew’s blunderbusses in a kollosus tower.

2. And can they shoot in any direction or do you have to face the crew one way. I picture them bristling with guns on each side.

Cheers, and thanks for the great book.

Just to clear this up, I read Thommy's daemonic war machine concept from his book, which inspired a toned down version I presented to Kevin. A month or 2 later, Kevin came back and decided to include something very similar to my initial suggestion in our book. I did credit Thommy in the book for that initial idea.

Loki:

Have just down loaded the book and WOW its just so cool better than any GW has ever made a massive hats off to every one that helped make it :hat off

phille:

Holy Crap guys, that looks like SO much work. CONGRATS!

Pygmy_Gr33n:

Very nice. Ironically, this is what led me to the site in the first place! XD

Quick Question though. Is ths now the most “official” rules set for the CDs? Or are the older ones still… safer?

Edit: My bad. Just read Grim’s post. Carry on. :stuck_out_tongue:

mattbird:

strength 3, as they have no ranks.

2. And can they shoot in any direction or do you have to face the crew one way.  I picture them bristling with guns on each side.

the crew have 360 LOS, so can shoot in any direction

Cheers, and thanks for the great book.

thank you!

Brilliant work! :hat off

I'm very impressed!

Now I'm curious if the Chaos Dwarfs will put up a good show in the next tournaments!

           :hashut

Zanko
not likely as I plan on playing them and I don't play to win(well not that hard at least)

wallacer:

Looks like the Australian Tournaments might be using the Indy GT book soon: Account Suspended

I’m aware of at least one TO here in New Zealand that is thinking of bringing it in to.

Looks like the gospel is spreading. Matt and Kevin seem to have done a good job in boosting interest in CDs :hat off

Da Crusha:

I have to admit, at first I didnt think I would like it since its not official, but WOW this book is IMPRESSIVE!!! I really like how you guys stuck close to official rules and there doesn’t seem to be any wacky or over the top rules that are common in fan based rules. good jobs guys, amazing work!!!

Edit* quick question, where do I find the rules for the demon eyes upgrade?

KevinC:

Thanks Da Crusha,

Daemon eyes rules are in the Hobgoblin section.

Grimstonefire:

Hi Kevin, I was wondering if you could tell us how you came about designing the list/ fluff/ general army composition in the first place?

Was it a slow evolution of ideas, or did it all come in a vision from Hashut?

I haven’t thanked you directly for this yet, but you did a great job.  It’s certainly got dozens more people talking about collecting CD than I’ve ever seen, which can only be good for CDO indirectly.

Taedae:

when is the new book and army coming out? i dont know if i want to wait for the new models, if any, to come out or just start collecting on ebay/converting. i like the new book alot after reading more into it.

Grimstonefire:

This book is nothing to do with any official army book, if that is what you mean.

GW have said FW are very interested in making some CD, but beyond that we don’t know much yet. Certainly no date has been rumoured yet.

Uzkul Werit:

When deploying Daemonic Engines, do they all go down at once?
