Hill_Billy_Bub:

After a while of strolling the web I managed to empty my pockets and bank account to get this. First off I’ll start by saying I like the Big hats the most out of all the other chaos dwarfs. However I do own some of the 3rd ed (see pics) and some of the newer forge world models (not in pic but consists of BC and fireglaive models). So far I only painted a few models and on my way to finishing some more.

Here an over view of what I got so far:

Here is some extra command models a picked up from the buying spree I went on(cookie to whoever finds what is wrong with this picture):

Here is some random stuff. The mountain/volcano things was a temporary unit filler for the warriors, Props to Bolg for the lammasu hope he likes how I painted it, as for the squat in exo armor I hope to get more of them and use them as unit filler or make a unit of their very own:

Here is all the warriors I have so far and I’m try to find a good way to recast the plastic ones:

On top of more painting I need to do, I also need to do some more basing for the already painted models:

Some 3rd ed models that I will add to the army as “mercenary Chaos Dwarfs”:

One painted and one primed EarthShakers:

here is one almost completed death rocket and a Hell cannon rescued from an abusive owner, also while the picture only shows 2 blunderbusser there are more but are in the process of being stripped:

Here are some of the heros I have right now, the second unpainted SB is also a rescue:

So far this is all I got for now. I have many things planned such such as an Iron Daemon and maybe a K’daai Destroyer, but as for right now I’ll focus on what I got till I get bored and make something either fantastic or not. :hat off

Holy crap. Great collection!

Thanks. Im suprised I got even half of these. I hope I could make an army out of all the original models.

I am trying to recreate my chaos dwarf force that I ‘panic sold’ a while ago. I am a huge fan of the big hats, too. I have been tempted to pick up some of the ‘Russian Alternative’ models (for cost reasons), but they just don’t have the cartoony-ness that I really like about the ‘classic’ big hats.

Helblindi:

Looks great. Very economical idea to recast your soldiers.

There are 3 left bull halves, and only one right!

The cartoony look is really what gives the chaos dwarves their character in my opinion

Hunter:

That’s a damn impressive collection! It’s always nice to see some love for the big hats.

Hill_Billy_Bub:

So…Random inconsistent update. I got a package today that I forgot I ordered. In it was a death rocket team, a lammasu, and an Astragoth (I now have 2)

and now to something else. As Helblindi pointed out I don’t have enough to make two bull centaurs so I decided to convert on into a rider for the lammasu. as I have learned that I suck with green stuff.

zobo1942:

Good idea! I’ve always wanted to use a classic bull centaur torso and put it onto some normal legs. I also like the rocket crew member with his hand outstretched - I’ve often thought that making some kind of spear of pole arm (held vertically) would look great.

Hill_Billy_Bub:

Could have a cannon swab since he is artillery

zobo1942:

That’s true, but ten or twelve of them in a unit with big spears would look pretty cool!

Hill_Billy_Bub:

It would

Abecedar:

Check out Fuggit Khans (I think) big hat conversions.

And it is only practice that helps with green-stuff skills… so do not give up.

Jackswift:

A very nice start. Love the use of the chaos exoarmor square. Sounds unit would be killer though you might have to trade in your car to buy them. Cheers!

Fuggit Khan:

What a nice assortment of vintage models you have…lots of beautiful Big Hats and an impressive amount of the 3rd edition bazooka teams too…awesome!

And I really like your start on converting the Bull Centaur standard bearer to a rider for the Lammasu, a clever conversion…I’ve converted a few of them to be foot troops, but it never occurred to me to convert them to riders. Your idea is much more interesting I think, well done.

And if you should ever want the other missing half of the Bull Centaur, let me know, I have extra’s and I can send one to you for free if you like :hat off

Fuggit Khan
Thank you, kinda funny because i got the idea when I saw that you converted the bullcentuar into a foot troop

Jackswift
Suprisingly they are not overly expensive but are expensive the real problem is finding them

Hill_Billy_Bub:

Another random update on the slowly growing collection

I managed to get my hands on some Hobgoblins at a decent price, also some more of 3rd ed weapons team

And I would like to give thanks to Herby for the awesomely painted dwarves and slayers

Sadly do to the amount of work that I have, I have not made much progress in the way of painting or weird conversion ideas. Hopefully I can figure out a way to balance stuff out because I miss my evil stunties.
