I’m glad you got that sorted out with Forgeworld. It gives you a little more faith in a business, especially when you are spending a lot of money each time.
Loving those gargoyles! I really like the layered cork base. Excellent stuff!
Awesome looking gargoyle troop! Really dynamically posed models to, they really look like a pack (flock?) of approaching winged baddies. What range are these guys from?
For painting them to my mind I could see them looking awesome painted up like the Dragon, you had a really great scheme on him and I think it would look really good on these guys to. As for doing them up like the same stone as the base I think it would also serve you really well, some glowing eyes and maybe some subtle highlights to make them pop out a little bit and it I think it would be awesome.
Tacitly these guys are really-really great flack, I don?Tt know if you have had the chance to try them yet but these are arguably one of the best sacrificial screening units in the game and they can play the harassment and war machine hunting role as well if you opponent doesn?Tt take the bait.
Man, looking at your other bases I?Tm really blown away by the cork board. It looks super easy, and the effect is great. I?Tve been struggling to figure out what to do to tier my Decimator Horde?Ts multi-base, and I think you have shown me the light with the cork board.
I spend too much time building and not painting. I had planned to paint my Drazhoath next. I’m going to build him up this weekend and begin painting asap!
@Carcearion
The Gargoyles are from Privateer Press, Grotesque Banshees. My first thought was to paint them along with the dragon too. Get the purple and green in and tie it up with the rest.
They are a great unit. So cheap! Probably one of the best chaff units in the game. Going to be taking at least three troops in my initial army.
Corkboard gets a lot of heat from some hobbyists. It’s just so easy to work with, rip and glue! I always add a bit of texture (Stirland mud) on top too, gives it a nice finish. Cork also allows for easy pinning of miniatures to the base. Just coat in super glue and press down, cork goes very solid with super glue.
so great , can’t wait to see this chariot painted . Its gonna be Epic !!! and thats a good thing to see the skavens where they belong , as CD servants !
Excellent progress! I am always a big fan of subtle shades like that, can’t wait to see the crew on their it should be a fine war machine when all is said and done.
+Crew. I’m happy with the look, I’ll go ahead and paint all War Engines in this way I think.
Base will be a larger than it should be. As Abyssal Dwarf War Engines are “Indirect Fire” it doesn’t really matter. If someone wants to take it out… they will regardless of base size. I went for 80x120mm, wanted to get the telescope guy on the base.
Mock up of my Grotesques Horde on the multibase. I used a resin rock piece at the front of this one to level out the one model.
Started painting my Grotesque Champion. Base colours and washes mostly done. Wasn’t sure how this would look with all purple plates but I’m happy with how it looks. Will give the regular Grotesques less purple.
