[Archive] My O&Gs (no chaos dwarves here, sorry)

azhagmorglum:

Hi, long time lurker in the army forum, I decided to post my stuff here also. After all, greenskins are chaos dwarves related in some way.

Anyway, my army has no particular theme or fluff, something I’d like to do something about, but I’m struggling finding a theme. Besides, I accumulated a lot of models since my beginning, more than 15 years ago, so I’ve got something of each unit in my army.

In that time, I haven’t really painted my models (20/30 models at most), but last year I resumed work on them, and now I have more than 70 models painted (but still a lot unfinished).

I’m active in other forums (namely da-warpath and warseer), and I decided to post my stuff here also to get some comments and critics from chaos dwarves players as well.

So I’m going to post first the already finished models. Then the WiP and maybe some pictures of all my models. Let’s get started !!

First some orcs warriors. Double choppas or choppas and shields (shields not painted yet) :

azhagmorglum:

Next are some squigs and herders, and shamans :

azhagmorglum:

Now we have some black orcs, and rock lobber.

In the second picture of the black orcs, I haven’t done the weathering of the armour, but I’ll do it later, for now they are ok like that.

azhagmorglum:

And to finish today, here are some WiPs, namely squigs and herders, river trolls and a mystery base :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

JonJon:

vulcanologist:

Some very nice stuff here! You paint very nice reds by the way!

Bolg:

Ha I’ve seen these over at Da Warpath too. and they are stunning!

(oh and I’m not complaining, I double post my gobbos to (I just upload more pics over there))

Grimbold Blackhammer:

The light-green skin you did on the orcs is excellent!  So good in fact I think my hobbos might look good wearing it!!  Could you post your recipe?

Blue in VT:

These are wonderful and full of character…very well done!

Cheers,

gIL^:

I love the skin tone, Gives the paler a more older and wiser look about them.

Time of Madness:

Great work, very vibrant colours!

Ghrask Dragh:

Great skin tones man, really cool stuff, makes me want to paint my Orcs again :hat off

dncswlf:

The weathering on the Black Orc armor is awesome! How did you accomplish that look? Great stuff!

azhagmorglum:

Thanks for your comments guys.

The orc skin recipe is : gretchin green, heavy wash of devlan mud (or sepia or ogrynn flesh, I use the three to give the orcs slightly different skin colours, my favourite is devlan mud), first hightlight gretchin green, second highlight gretchin + bleached bone + a hint of yellow sunburst

I continued painting my squigs today, and finished all of the skin for the squigs and goblins. I’m quite satisfied with the look of them, and I’ll try to post pictures tomorrow.

Stay tuned

azhagmorglum:

Ok here are the wip picture I’ve talked about in the previous post

Sorry for the big picture if it takes too long to load, can someone tell me how to attach thumbnails to a post?

Kera foehunter:

For the orcs, I gave it 2 posts above ^^

For the goblins it is : goblin green, thraka green wash ( plus a second one but just in the recesses - use a fine detail brush here), first highlight goblin green (water it down !!) and second highlight goblin + bleached bone + a hint of yellow sunburst (again, to water down)

vulcanologist:

Sweet!

This message was automatically appended because it was too short.

Kera foehunter:

Ahhhhhhhhh ha the yellow sunburst

thanks so much sweetie

azhagmorglum:

You’re welcome

4 of the lot are finished now, the other 3 need only one or two details to be painted and be done.
