I just checked in with Forge World about the K'daai Destroyer and they told me early 2014Nice to know. Althoug until now I have not used the Destroyer yet I would like to see the miniature and to try it.

I am sorry even with the rework, its garbage. Horns as I stated before, legs are short and stubby, its a mewling mess as its crawling at you. A destroyer is a massive towering STRIDING monster. Not this crap thing that crawls at you like some missborn accident begging to die so its horrid existence can be ended.

I’m with Geist on this one. I don’t field a K’daii Destroyer anymore but if I did, it sure wouldn’t be that model. It is an interesting interpretation but unfortunately it’s a complete an epic fail IMHO. Even my test models that I’ve tossed out because they aren’t good enough are better than that.

Doesn’t fit the bill. The body is decent for something else. Not sure what I’ll make into a destroyer. Probably something like my kdaai but bigger.
Good effort though. At least they tried.

Forge World should simply just release a trio of Hobgoblin characters and perhaps an ordinary command group and see if the models are characterful and demanded enough for sales to justify further Hobgoblin releases. Test the market with a safe pioneer kit.That is a great idea!! Like how they do the weapon kits and stuff for te space marines ... Heads and weapons/upper torsos for reg gobos to turn them into hobgobs ... Blunderbuss weapon kit to swap out for the fireglaives. Maybe a great weapon set to tht would fit on IG .. Maybe some more intricate helmets to upgrade your IG to ironsworn.
Even a quite small amount of sales for Hobgoblin infantry and riders could repay the investment handsomely enough to make it worth the release. A bitz kit of Hobgoblin heads and curved knives could also be of interest for converters. FW is a boutique styled business after all. The only way to tell the depth is for Forge World to dive into the waters.

Why does everyone not like it so much ?? I mean yeah it really doesn’t look like how most of us probably pictured it and it does look a little 40kish … But all in all I do think it is kinda cool … What’s everyone’s main issue with it?
They are remodeling it though aren’t they? What do u guys think / or hope it looks like?? It’s supposed to be released like this month or next isn’t it?

Firstly, I really don’t like the frame around the bottom jaw. while the face looks beast like and ferocious the jaw plate just looks odd sticking so far out.
Second, I am really not keen on the armour plates on the shoulders. To me it just gives a tomb king type feel to the model, with the shape of the armour being the same as TK shields.
Thirdly, as others have mentioned, the hind legs look poorly proportioned in comparison to the rest of the model from the photos so far. It also looks a bit too mechanical for my liking in comparison to the K’daai Fireborn we already have.
Forthly, you hit the nail on the head. It is nothing like I imagined. My vision was something fire based, like the Fire-born. I just was under the impression and mental image that the K’daai are born from magic and fire, bound within armour, “half-daemon stuff and half-raging fire drawn from the magma of the deep earth… … contained within an armoured framework…”. Other than the armour, this model reflect very little of that in my opinion.
Thats just my thoughts. I personally wouldn’t use this model.
I would rather have the Incarnate Elemental of Fire and do a bit of conversion work, and maybe put some wings on and other little additions.
This is the first CD model from Warhammer Forge where I can honestly say, if they release anything like their WIP model, I will be severly disappointed.
