Scar:
Thanks guys!
Will: yeah it’s basicly the same but then smaller…
I use it to build up all the colours and then i finish with highlights that i do with the normal brush.

Only have to do 12 bikes 3 wave serpents and 10 more avengers and this army is finished!
Scar:
Small in-be-tween projects project
Scar:
Hey all!
I’ve finished this necron army (finally) here are the pictures of the new units and the whole army:
Bloodbeard:
Yes! I’ve never liked Necrons. But these are great - they remind me of the Geth from Mass Effect. Those bettles with snakes tails are super scary.
TheHoodedMan:
... Those bettles with snakes tails are super scary. Also in game terms (according to what I heard and read) :yar.

Scar:
Hey Everyone,
Thanks guys!
Eldar Jetbikes finished, next 3 wave serpents!
mousekiller:
I am not much of a 40K person, but these models are extremely well painted Scar. Great work all around! Love the contrast that the blue gives.
Scar:
Thanks Mouse!
You have some nice armies yourself!
Wave Serpents finished!
And some WIP of my personal army:
Scar:
Hey everyone,
Update time!
Lysander with bodyguard, first unit for an imperial fist commission im currently working on:
And 3 Night lord vindicators for my personal army:
(finally had some time to paint something for myself in the easter weekend)
Jackswift:
Nicely done. The subdued yellows on Lysander and bodyguard fit much better than the ridiculously bright yellows sometimes seen on these models. The dragon head conversion on the tanks looks ace as well (that is a conversion, right?).
Scar:
Thanks Jack!
WEll not really a conversion, just clipped the normal barrels and added the gargoyle/dragon heads to that.
Today’s update!
TheHoodedMan:
Wow that Robot`s style is perfect. Exactly the right balance between clear and battleworn.
Willmark:
The metal on the robot is insane, looks super real!
Malorndk:
I don’t care about the robot. Scar just painted an entire tanky thing yellow and made it look good! Do you guys know how hard yellow is to paint. GAAAAH. I have tried to paint a decent yellow for 15 years, but nope. It still looks like a pile of dogpoop. But this guy, man. That’s some yellow! If I could paint yellow like that I would make and entire army of Savage Orcs with Yellow skin, just to look at and feel good about.
Scar:
Thanks guys!
Malornkd: it’s easy, parasite brown from Vallejo game colours then scrofulous brown from vallejo game then add white to the scrofulous then i glaze everything with moon yellow from vallejo game air.
Then the edge highlights with moon yellow and white mix and glaze again with moon yellow.
Though you will need an airbrush for this to do it properly im afraid, with brush it would also work only takes a very very long time then.
More fists finished!
Malorndk:
“Hey man it’s super easy! Just follow this 21 step procedure with an airbrush mate!” - Scar 2016
TheHoodedMan:
It is super easy in theory ;-).
Thanks for providing the instructions, very helpful. I painted yellow myself on two of my Bretonnians and will invest in some airbrush equipment the next months. For a smooth applying especially of light colors this is a difference for sure. It is possible with a brush, but that`s is very very time consuming.
Darkmeer:
The work is gorgeous the whole thread, in fact!
As to painting yellow, it’s a bit of a pain I’ll agree. There are a handful of good paint-brush techniques that work really well. Some are more dirty looking, others are really crisp. I’d really like an airbrush to be able to do the soft gradients that Scar does. My yellows look really choppy by comparison.
